Product features

Quick answer: Peel and stick backing and old glue let go in the heat, so roof linings sag and carpet lifts. This Australian made contact adhesive is tested to 120°C and sprays a thick pattern for upholstery work. It sprays a thick splatter pattern for roof linings, carpet and extra hold on peel and stick insulation. Allow 3.5 square metres per can, because both surfaces need coating.

What problems does the Car Builders Upholstery Spray Adhesive fix?

  • Roof linings and insulation sagging in the heat. It is tested to 120°C, where general glues let go.
  • Peel and stick foam falling off upside down. Car Builders recommend it for added strength on self adhesive products in inverted positions.

How it works

Spray both surfaces, let it tack off, then press them together. The adjustable nozzle lays a thick splatter coat to cover large areas.

What is in the box

  • 1 can

How much do I need?

Each can covers 7 square metres of single surface, so allow 3.5 square metres of finished bond per can.

Will it fit my vehicle?

Plastics, metal, wood, glass, fabric, flexible foam and paper. Not plasticised vinyl or polystyrene.

How to install

Difficulty: Easy.

  1. Apply between 16°C and 27°C.
  2. Spray from 10 to 20cm at 90 degrees to the surface for 80 to 100% coverage.
  3. Spray both surfaces, one vertically and one horizontally.
  4. Wait until no glue transfers to your knuckle.
  5. Press together firmly, ideally with a roller.
  6. Allow 24 hours to fully cure.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Coating only one surface.
  • Bonding before it has tacked off.
  • Using it on plasticised vinyl or polystyrene, or in direct sun.
