What problems does the Mass Noise Liner Joining Kit fix?

How it works

Mass Noise Liner works by mass, so it only blocks noise well when it is one unbroken layer. The strip is the same mass loaded vinyl in raw form. Glue it over cuts and seams with the low viscosity cyanoacrylate and the barrier acts as one sheet again.

How much do I need?

One 3m roll covers 3m of joins or cuts. Add up the length of every seam and relief cut in your barrier layer and allow some overlap.

How to install

Difficulty: Easy. Cyanoacrylate grabs quickly, so line each piece up before you press it down.

  1. Fit your Mass Noise Liner and note every cut, gap and join.
  2. Cut a piece of vinyl strip long enough to cover the gap with an overlap on each side.
  3. Apply the cyanoacrylate glue to the strip.
  4. Press the strip over the join and hold it until it grabs.
  5. For a removable section, glue tabs with velcro instead of gluing the strip right across.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Leaving small gaps. Sound leaks through any opening in the barrier.
  • Using too much glue. It is low viscosity and runs.
  • Skin contact with the glue. Treat it like any superglue.

What does Tape Only mean?

Tape Only is the roll of mass loaded vinyl strip without the glue. It has no adhesive of its own.

Do I need this if I use Mass Noise Liner?
