Quick answer: A bare Amarok tub liner lets bags, tools and eskies slide and scuff every time you brake. This precut marine carpet mat sits on the 2 piece liner and holds the load with its rubber backing. It is 7mm thick at 835gsm, the anti slip rubber backing keeps it positioned, and it drops in with no fasteners.

What problems does this Amarok cargo mat fix?

  • Load sliding around the tub. The carpet face holds gear, and the rubber backing stops the mat sliding like unbacked mats.
  • Scratched liner and damaged gear. Everything sits on 7mm of marine carpet instead of plastic.
  • Sand, mud and spills. After a dusty trip the Amarok mat lifts straight out for a hose or a vacuum.
  • Mats that fit badly. It is cut to the Amarok tub floor, with a cut for each generation.

Which option do I need?

One mat per Amarok is all you need, shaped to the full tub floor. Pick 1st Gen for 2010 to 2022 Amaroks or 2nd Gen for 2023 onwards. The Car Builders photos show the Cargo Only cut, finishing at the tailgate.

Will it fit my vehicle?

Car Builders cut it for the VW Amarok dual cab with a 2 piece tub liner, 1st Gen 2010 to 2022 and 2nd Gen 2023 onwards. If your Amarok is a single cab, or the tub has no 2 piece liner, Car Builders do not list this mat for it.

How to install

Difficulty: Easy. Drop it onto the liner, no tools or fixings.

  1. Clean out the Amarok tub so the backing sits on a clean 2 piece liner.
  2. Place the mat in from the tailgate and push it fully forward.
  3. Bed it into the liner ribs and around the arches.
  4. Make sure it finishes neatly at the tailgate before you load the tub.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Picking the wrong generation. 2023 onwards is 2nd Gen.
  • Fitting it to a tub without the 2 piece liner it was cut for.
  • Leaving grit underneath.
