Product features

Quick answer: Truck engine bays, machinery and generator enclosures are loud and hot, and bare foam soaks up oil and fuel. Truck Liner is 25mm acoustic foam with a foil glass cloth face that keeps those liquids out. It absorbs sound, insulates against heat and reflects radiant heat in truck and machinery engine bays and generator enclosures. The foil face keeps dust, oil, fuel and liquids out of the foam, and it is self extinguishing.

What problems does the Car Builders Truck Liner Foil Faced Acoustic Foam fix?

  • Engine noise in a truck or machine cab. The foam gives high performance sound absorption in demanding industrial settings.
  • Radiant heat from the engine. The aluminium face reflects radiant heat and the foam adds thermal insulation.
  • Foam soaking up oil and fuel. The impermeable foil face protects the foam from dust, oils, fuels, liquids and sprays.
  • Foam that rots. Car Builders state it will not degrade or rot over time.

How it works

The polyurethane foam absorbs sound and slows heat. The foil glass cloth face on top reflects radiant heat and seals the foam from contamination. It is flame retardant and self extinguishing, so it will not keep burning once the ignition source is removed.

What is in the box

  • 1 piece of Truck Liner in the length you select

How much do I need?

Measure the panels you want to line and choose the length. Car Builders can supply larger roll sizes on request.

Will it fit my vehicle?

Car Builders list no truck makes or models. They sell it for truck and machinery engine bays and generator enclosures, so it is chosen by the space you are lining.

How to install

Difficulty: Easy to moderate, mostly cutting and gluing foam to shape.

  1. Clean the surface so the adhesive can grip.
  2. Cut the foam to suit the panel.
  3. Apply Car Builders Spray Adhesive, as the foam is not self adhesive.
  4. Press it into place with the foil face out towards the heat and noise.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Fitting Truck Liner dry. There is no adhesive backing, so spray glue goes on first.
  • Fitting it foil side in. The foil face is what reflects heat and shields the foam.
