Product features

Quick answer: An empty panel van booms off its walls and roof, lets heat through the cab floor and drums across the cargo floor. This one approx 55kg kit treats all three areas. It has deadener for the front floor, firewall, rear arches and side walls, Acoustic Liner for the front floor, a roll of Van Liner for the walls and roof, and removable Mass Noise Liner for the cargo floor.

Panel van problems and the fixes

  • Booming side walls and roof. Stage 1 Sound Deadener covers 60% of the rear quarters, side walls and roof skin, enough to stop the boom without the weight of full coverage.
  • Noise and heat in the cab floor. Deadener goes everywhere the carpet goes up front, then Stage 2 Acoustic Liner sits on it ready for the carpet in the front half of the floor pan.
  • Heat through the walls and roof. One roll of 10mm peel and stick Van Liner lines the vertical walls and roof skin to cut heat and sound further, and you can upholster over it.
  • A loud cargo floor. Two sheets of Mass Noise Liner drop onto the cargo floor with no glue, and can be lifted out again.

How it works

Deadener damps the metal, a foam layer insulates it, and a heavy vinyl backed blanket blocks noise on the floor. The Panel Van Kit uses each where it does most good: Acoustic Liner in the cab, Van Liner on the walls and roof, and Mass Noise Liner in the cargo bay.

What is in the box

Panel Van Kit, approx 55kg

  • 5 boxes Stage 1 Sound Deadener, 9 square metres
  • 2 boxes Stage 2 Acoustic Liner, 3.4 square metres
  • 1 roll Van Liner, 5 square metres
  • 2 sheets Mass Noise Liner, 3 square metres
  • Install kit: roller, knife, aluminium foil tape
  • Bonus stubby holder and bottle opener

How much for my panel van?

It is a single kit with no options, so the quantity is fixed. The deadener target on the walls and roof is 60% coverage, not every square centimetre.

Which panel vans does it fit?

Car Builders does not list makes or models for this kit. Measure your cargo area against the quantities above, or call our team with your van details before ordering.

How to install in a panel van

Effort: moderate. The cargo area is open and easy to reach. The cab floor means removing seats and carpet.

  1. Remove the cab seats and carpet and any cargo area trim.
  2. Panel van floors and walls get the isopropanol, or wax and grease remover, treatment next.
  3. Deaden the front floor and firewall wherever the carpet sits, then the rear arches, and about 60% of the rear quarters, side walls and roof skin.
  4. Stick Acoustic Liner across the front half of the floor and Van Liner over the walls and roof.
  5. Cut the Mass Noise Liner to the cargo floor and drop it in, then refit the cab.

No install video is published for this kit. Ask our team if you get stuck on a step.

Panel van mistakes

  • Trying to stick the cargo Mass Noise Liner. It is a drop in product.
  • Spending deadener on full wall coverage and running short for the roof.
