Quick answer: Ordinary tape unwinds once it gets wet or hot and leaves sticky residue on looms. FUSE-IT is a self fusing silicone tape with no adhesive. Stretch it and overlap it and it bonds to itself, giving a 100% waterproof seal in seconds. It stretches up to 300%, withstands temperatures up to 260°C and comes as a 25mm wide, 3m roll. Use it to seal looms, for automotive repairs and as a glove box emergency fix.

What problems does the FUSE-IT Silicone Tape fix?

  • Tape that unwinds once it gets wet or hot. FUSE-IT has no glue to fail. It bonds to itself and seals out water.
  • Sticky residue on looms. With no adhesive it leaves no gooey mess.

How it works

FUSE-IT is a thin silicone tape. When you stretch it and overlap each wrap, it contracts and bites into the layer below, fusing into one solid, waterproof wrap with no adhesive.

How to install

Difficulty: Easy.

  1. Just before use, peel away the protective plastic film.
  2. Hold the start of the tape firmly and begin to wrap around the object.
  3. Stretch the tape to the tension you want, aiming for a two thirds overlap.
  4. Cut the tape and finish with a full overlap for a secure bond.
  5. Press firmly so the end fuses down.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Wrapping without stretching. The tape must be stretched to fuse.
  • Not overlapping enough at the finish.
