Here are some key points to note about our shipping policy:

Standard Shipping

  • Frankies offers a $15.95 flat rate for Australia-wide shipping, no matter how many items you order. Some larger or heavier items may incur an additional fee, which will be communicated to you when your order is processed.
  • While we endeavour to dispatch all orders promptly, please be advised that due to the current national fuel shortages in Australia and the resulting pressure on logistics networks, order processing and dispatch may take up to 7 business days. We are not liable for delays caused by third-party freight carriers or fuel-related logistical disruptions. By placing an order, you acknowledge that delivery timeframes may be extended beyond our standard estimates during this period.

Estimated delivery times:

  • WA, NT, and TAS: currently experiencing longer shipping times
  • Holiday periods (e.g. Christmas): deliveries may be delayed due to increased freight volumes

Express Shipping

  • Express shipping is available and calculated based on your delivery location, as well as the size and weight of your order. To receive an accurate quote, please contact our Albion Park Rail store and request an "express shipping quote." Our team will promptly assist with pricing and availability. Payment for express shipping can be securely arranged over the phone.

Product features

Quick answer: Car Builders Shrink Weave is a woven, durable sleeve for protecting rubber hoses, fuel lines, air conditioning pipes and wiring looms from rubbing. Slide it on and wave a heat gun over it and it shrinks to half its original diameter. It comes in 20, 30, 50 and 70mm sizes, 1m long, and cuts with scissors.

What problems does the Shrink Weave fix?

  • Hoses rubbing through on brackets and edges. The woven sleeve has excellent abrasion resistance.
  • Rattles from hoses and lines. A snug sleeve reduces rattle.
  • Sleeves that are loose or hard to fit. It slides on oversize, then shrinks 2:1 with a heat gun for a tight fit.
  • Coming up short after shrinking. It also shrinks in length, so cut it longer than you need.

How it works

The sleeve is woven with a 2:1 heat shrink ratio. Slide it over the hose while it is oversize, then heat it between 110°C and 185°C with a heat gun and it pulls down to half its diameter.

What is in the box

  • 1 x Shrink Weave sleeve, 1m long, in the diameter you choose

How much do I need?

Each piece is 1m long. Pick a size that slides over your hose before shrinking and shrinks down to the hose or smaller. 20mm shrinks to 10mm, 30mm to 15mm, 50mm to 25mm and 70mm to 35mm.

Will it fit my vehicle?

Shrink Weave is sold by size, not by vehicle. Car Builders list it for radiator hoses, fuel lines, air conditioning pipes and wiring looms, so pick the size that slides over your hose or loom.

How to install

Difficulty: Easy. You need scissors and a heat gun.

  1. Pick the size that slides over the hose and shrinks down tight.
  2. Cut the sleeve longer than the area you want to cover, as it shrinks in length too.
  3. Slide it over the hose or loom.
  4. Wave a heat gun evenly along the sleeve until it shrinks down.
  5. Let it cool before refitting the hose.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Cutting it to exact length before shrinking.
  • Holding the heat gun in one spot.
  • Choosing a size that will not shrink down to the hose.
