Product features

Quick answer: Brushing stone guard or texture coating onto a chassis is slow and leaves a patchy finish. This Schutz style gun screws straight onto the coating bottle and sprays it, with a hose extension for cavity wax. It suits thick textured paints such as stone guard and texture coatings, has adjustable air pressure control while you spray, and comes with a hose extension with a multi direction tip for cavity waxes. It fits UPol Raptor bottles.

What problems does the Car Builders Underbody Schutz Spray Gun with Hose Extension fix?

  • Thick texture paint will not go through a normal gun. This gun is made for thick viscosity paints and screws straight onto the bottle.
  • Coarse or blotchy texture. Adjustable air pressure control lets you change the pressure while painting to tune the texture.
  • Cannot reach inside chassis rails and cavities. The hose extension with a multi direction spray tip gets cavity wax into closed sections.

How it works

The gun screws onto the coating bottle and draws the paint up by suction when you pull the trigger. Turn the air control up for a finer texture and down for a coarser one. Swap to the hose extension to coat inside cavities.

What is in the box

  • 1 x Underbody Spray Gun
  • Hose extension with multi direction spray tip

How much do I need?

One gun does the job. Clean it straight after use and it will keep going.

Will it fit my vehicle?

Fits UPol Raptor bottles and Car Builders TXT Coating bottles, which come fitted with a Schutz connector. Runs off an air compressor.

How to install

Difficulty: Moderate. You need an air compressor and a bit of practice on scrap to get the texture you want.

  1. Test the gun and your air supply before attaching it to the coating bottle.
  2. Screw the gun onto the bottle.
  3. For Car Builders TXT Coating, set the air between 50 and 100psi. Higher pressure gives a finer texture.
  4. Spray at about 20 to 25cm from the panel in even overlapping passes.
  5. Use the hose extension and multi direction tip for cavity wax inside closed sections.
  6. Clean the gun straight away with solvent based gun wash, acetone or thinners.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Attaching the gun before testing the air supply.
  • Spraying too close and getting runs.
  • Leaving coating in the gun to set.
