Product features

Quick answer: Factory Jimny bonnet insulation breaks down or goes missing, and then engine heat and noise come up through the bonnet. This two layer pre cut set replaces it. Layer 1 infill pieces go in first and the layer 2 top layer covers them, all in black self adhesive needle punched polyester rated to 207°C. Car Builders do not name the Jimny generation, so check with us before you order.

Why Jimny owners replace the bonnet insulation

  • Factory Jimny insulation that is breaking down or missing. This set replaces it with new material cut to the Jimny bonnet shape.

How many sets does a Jimny take?

One set covers one Jimny bonnet. Car Builders do not list the number of infill pieces in layer 1. The photo shows them.

Fitting the Jimny layers

Difficulty: Easy. Take your time laying out both layers before anything sticks.

  1. Degrease the inside of the Jimny bonnet with a wax and grease remover.
  2. Lay out the layer 1 infill pieces and the layer 2 top layer and offer each one up with the backing on.
  3. Start each piece from its middle, peeling only a little backing at first.
  4. Press outwards in small sections and keep the material relaxed, not stretched.
  5. Roll each layer down firmly with the Application Roller, infill first, then the top layer.

Jimny mistakes to avoid

  • Putting the top layer on before the infill pieces are stuck down.
  • Skipping the trial fit. Check every piece against its recess with the backing still on.
  • Ordering without confirming your Jimny generation with us.
