Which 79 single cab floor do you have?

The single cab floor pan has changed over the years, and the footrest tells you which one you have: an under carpet styrofoam footrest or a moulded plastic footrest. The product photos compare them. The styrofoam pattern also suits the facelift LC79. Not sure? Call us before ordering.

Single cab 79 problems and fixes

• Noise through the rear wall. Single cab deadening goes from the pedal box back across the floor and up the back wall as far as the window base, and 12mm Acoustic Liner finishes that wall.
• Road roar through the floor. Pre cut Mass Noise Liner goes over the firewall and floor pan as a Stage 2 barrier.
• Hot roof and noisy doors. Pack 2 adds deadener for the roof and door skins and a sheet of 6mm Insul-Layer for the roof.
• A bare rear wall. The optional four way stretch carpet and spray adhesive finish it off. Dark Grey is the closest match to factory grey 79 interiors.

How the single cab pack works

Stage 1 sheets come loose because they do not need exact placement. Liner and foam pieces are shaped to the single cab, so treat the listed areas as a guide.

Rear wall carpet option

• 1m x 2m four way stretch carpet
• 1 can Premium Spray Adhesive

The carpet comes as an oversized sheet, not cut to the vehicle. Colours are Black, Dark Grey, Light Grey and Quartz Grey.

How to install in a 79 single cab

Effort: moderate, and the short cab keeps it manageable. Three Car Builders videos cover the job.

1. Remove the seats, floor covering and rear wall trim. Door cards and roof lining come out for Pack 2.
2. Single cab floor and back wall: isopropanol or wax and grease remover, then let it dry.
3. Roll the Stage 1 onto the single cab floor and back wall, and on Pack 2 the door skins and roof too.
4. Next the floor liner goes down and the foam goes on the back wall.
5. Pack 2: Insul-Layer on the roof. If you ordered carpet, cut it to shape and glue it over the rear wall.

Mistakes to avoid in a 79 single cab

• Choosing the floor variation without checking your footrest. It is either an under carpet styrofoam type or a moulded plastic type.
• Expecting the rear wall carpet to arrive cut. It is an oversized 1m x 2m sheet you trim yourself.
