Product Overview

The Gator G30CL is a compact IP67 surface mount camera in an aluminium case with a butterfly-style mounting bracket, suitable for mounting virtually anywhere on the front or rear of a vehicle. Three wire loops provide installer-adjustable settings:

  • Blue loop: Default NTSC → cut for PAL
  • Green loop: Default no parking gridlines → cut to add gridlines
  • White loop: Default rear view image → cut for reverse (mirror) image

For standard Australian reverse camera installations: Cut the blue loop (PAL) and the white loop (reverse mirror image) during installation.

The G30CL defaults to NTSC and rear view (non-mirrored) image. For a standard Australian installation — PAL head unit, reverse mirror image — cut the blue loop (PAL) and the white loop (reverse mirror image). Cut the green loop if you also want parking gridlines.

What is a butterfly mount?

A butterfly mount is a compact surface mount bracket with a low-profile design that spreads across the mounting surface for stability. It is suitable for flat or slightly curved surfaces and provides a clean, low-profile mounting point compared to traditional swivel-style surface mount brackets.

There are two lens angle specs — 105° and 170°. Which is correct?

How does the loop system work?

Cutting a loop permanently changes that setting. The cuts are made once during installation — select your settings, cut the relevant loops, and the camera operates in those settings permanently.

Does the cable include a reverse trigger wire?

Yes. The 6m video cable includes a reverse trigger wire that connects to the vehicle's reverse light circuit, automatically activating the camera display when reverse gear is selected.
