Viper 556UXL Universal Transponder Bypass Interface Module

The Viper 556UXL is a universal immobiliser bypass module that lets a remote start system start a car with a transponder or RF key. It is a larger version of Viper's 556UW, made for keys too big to fit the smaller unit.

Why remote start needs a bypass

Most cars from the late 1990s on will not start unless the immobiliser reads the chip in the key. A remote starter can turn the engine over, but the immobiliser stops it running. The 556UXL holds one of your keys inside the module and only presents it to the immobiliser while the remote start is running, then returns the car to normal security.

Before you buy

You need a spare key to give up to the module. If you do not have one, a dealer or locksmith can cut and code a new key for your car first. Some newer cars use data bypass modules rather than a key in a box, so check your car with us before you order.
