A hidden-installation DAB antenna that mounts directly to the vehicle's glass only the copper element strip is visible once installed, with no antenna module or cable in sight.
The Stinger STDAB-2 is a DAB glass mount antenna designed for a concealed installation. The active antenna element mounts to the inside of the windscreen or side glass as a thin copper strip, while the antenna module and cable are routed behind the trim. Once installed, no module, housing, or cable is visible only the slim copper element on the glass.
Covering both DAB Band III (174–237MHz) and L-Band (1452–1492MHz), the STDAB-2 delivers a significant improvement over the basic stub antennas bundled with most aftermarket head units. Gain of 10±2dB in Band III and 2dBi in L-Band. The 3-metre RG174 cable with SMB connector is compatible with the DAB tuner inputs found on most aftermarket head units and DAB adaptor modules.

Goes Well With:
Will this antenna work with any DAB head unit?
The STDAB-2 uses an SMB connector, which is the standard connection type for most aftermarket DAB+ tuners and head units with built-in DAB. Confirm your head unit has an SMB DAB antenna input before purchasing — some head units use a different connector type (e.g. MCX or SMA).
What does "active antenna" mean?
An active antenna contains an amplifier that boosts the received DAB signal before sending it to the head unit. The STDAB-2 requires a 12V DC power supply (40mA) from the head unit's antenna phantom power output to activate the amplifier. Most modern aftermarket head units with DAB tuners provide this automatically.
Can this antenna be installed on any window?
Yes. The copper element strip can be applied to the windscreen, side windows, or rear window. The windscreen or rear window typically provides the best signal reception. Avoid mounting over metallic window tinting or heated rear window elements, which can reduce signal quality.
Is this antenna compatible with both DAB and DAB+ broadcasts?
The STDAB-2 covers the DAB Band III and L-Band frequency ranges used for both DAB and DAB+ broadcasts in Australia and internationally.
How much of the antenna is visible after installation?
Only the thin copper element strip on the glass is visible — the antenna module and cable are completely hidden behind the trim. The copper strip is low-profile and typically unobtrusive on the glass surface.
