True-spec 16GA OFC tinned speaker wire in an 18-metre blister pack 65-strand count, rated –20°C to 105°C, blue PVC jacket for standard car audio speaker installations.
The Stinger ST16SPKB is an 18-metre retail blister pack of 16GA blue speaker wire. Built with 100% tinned OFC (oxygen-free copper) conductors with a tinned outer coating for corrosion resistance and a 65-strand count for flexibility, it provides reliable power transfer from head unit or amplifier to speaker.
The PVC jacket is rated from –20°C to 105°C for durable automotive-grade insulation. The 18-metre blister pack is suited to single or dual-channel speaker installations rather than bulk workshop stock.

What is the difference between the ST16SPKB and the SPW516BK?
Both are 16GA OFC tinned speaker wire in blue, but the ST16SPKB is an 18-metre retail blister pack — suited to a single installation. The SPW516BK is a 152-metre bulk roll in black — suited to workshop or multi-vehicle installer stock.
What is 16GA speaker wire used for?
16GA is suited to standard car audio speaker installations — factory replacement coaxials, component front and rear speakers — driven by a head unit or entry to mid-level amplifier. For high-powered amplifier-driven builds or dedicated subwoofer connections, 12GA (ST12SPKB) is recommended.
Is 18 metres sufficient for a typical installation?
18 metres provides enough speaker wire for two to three speaker channels at a typical 4–6m run per channel — sufficient for a standard front or rear pair. For a full 4-channel installation, two packs may be required depending on run lengths.
Does the tinned outer coating affect sound quality?
No. The tinned coating is applied to the surface of each copper strand for corrosion resistance only — it does not affect the electrical or sonic properties of the wire.
Should I use 12GA or 16GA for my speakers?
For speakers driven directly from a head unit's internal amplifier, 16GA is more than adequate. For speakers driven by a dedicated external amplifier, 12GA is generally preferred for higher-powered configurations. Contact the F.A.E. team if you need help selecting the correct gauge for your setup.
