The SPF5140 from Stinger is a pack of five 40 amp AGU audio glass fuses with Shoc-Krome chrome-plated end caps. The transparent glass body allows visual inspection of the internal filament without the need for a multimeter, making blown fuse diagnosis quick and straightforward. Compatible with all standard AGU fuse holders used in car audio wiring, inline fuse holders, and power distribution blocks.
AGU fuses are the standard glass-body fuse format for car audio amplifier wiring applications. The transparent glass construction of the SPF5140 allows the internal filament to be inspected by eye, with a broken or blackened filament confirming a blown fuse without the need for testing equipment. The Shoc-Krome chrome plating on the metal end caps provides corrosion resistance and reliable contact in AGU fuse holders. Five fuses are included in the pack, providing spares for future use.
40 amp overcurrent protection: Provides 40A rated overcurrent protection for car audio amplifier wiring and other AGU fuse holder applications.
AGU audio glass fuse format: Standard AGU glass fuse format compatible with all AGU fuse holders used in car audio wiring, inline fuse holders, and power distribution blocks.
Transparent glass body with visible filament: The glass body allows the internal filament to be inspected by eye. A broken or blackened filament indicates a blown fuse, eliminating the need for multimeter testing.
Shoc-Krome chrome-plated end caps: Chrome plating on the metal end caps provides corrosion resistance and ensures reliable contact in AGU fuse holders.
Pack of 5: Five fuses are included in the pack, providing spares for future use alongside the installed fuse.

What is an AGU fuse?
AGU (Audio Glass Fuse) is a glass-bodied automotive fuse format commonly used in car audio amplifier wiring. The transparent glass body allows visual inspection of the internal filament. A broken or blackened filament indicates a blown fuse, eliminating the need for multimeter testing.
How do I know if an AGU fuse is blown?
Hold the fuse up to light and look at the internal wire filament through the glass body. An intact fuse shows an unbroken metallic wire. A blown fuse shows a broken or blackened filament with a visible gap.
What is the difference between AGU and ANL fuses?
AGU fuses are glass-body fuses typically used for lower to mid-range current applications in car audio and accessories. ANL fuses are larger bolt-down blade-style fuses designed for high-current main power runs. They use different holders and are not interchangeable. Confirm which format your fuse holder requires before ordering.
Can I replace a blown fuse with a higher amperage rating?
No. Never install a fuse rated higher than specified for the circuit. An oversized fuse defeats overcurrent protection and the wiring or component may overheat before the fuse blows, creating a fire risk. If a fuse blows repeatedly, diagnose and correct the underlying fault rather than increasing the fuse rating.
How many fuses are included in this pack?
The SPF5140 contains five 40 amp AGU fuses.
