The Stinger SCMBRT2 is a plug-and-play reverse camera retention adaptor for select Mercedes vehicles with a FAKRA camera connector at the factory radio or display. Converts the factory FAKRA connection to a male RCA output for use with a compatible aftermarket head unit, retaining the OEM reverse camera after a head unit upgrade. Vehicle harness included. Note: parking guidelines are not retained on all vehicles as these are generated by the factory radio rather than the camera. Head unit not included.

Product overview

When an aftermarket infotainment system replaces the factory radio in a compatible Mercedes, the factory reverse camera signal can be lost. The SCMBRT2 bridges the factory FAKRA camera connector to a standard male RCA output, the input type used by most aftermarket head units for reverse camera signals. The factory camera continues to function without installing a new camera.

Parking guidelines are generated by the factory radio, not the camera. Because the factory radio is being replaced, the parking lines may not display on the aftermarket head unit even though the camera image is retained. Confirm the parking guideline behaviour of your specific aftermarket head unit before purchasing if this is a requirement.

The Mercedes Sprinter W906 compatibility is restricted to 2014 to 2016 model years only, despite the W906 being produced from 2007 to 2018. W906 Sprinters built outside the 2014 to 2016 window are not supported. Confirm the build year of your Sprinter before purchasing.

The vehicle harness is included, providing the connection hardware needed without additional wiring. No splicing or soldering is required.
