Product Overview

The Stinger RKU8 is a premium 3-layer sound damping kit from the Roadkill Ultimate range. Unlike standard single or dual-layer sound damping, Roadkill Ultimate combines all three treatment layers in a single sheet replacing the need to apply separate materials for vibration damping and acoustic absorption. This means faster installation with better results.

The three-layer construction works from the inside out:

1. Bottom layer — Ultra-dense butyl blend: Applied directly to the metal panel, this proprietary butyl compound absorbs acoustical energy, kills panel vibrations, squeaks, and rattles at their source.
2. Middle layer — Aluminium foil (3 mil): Assists with heat dissipation and provides structural integrity, connecting the butyl and foam layers.
3. Top layer — Acoustic foam (2 mil): Absorbs and diffuses high-frequency sounds, acts as a thermal barrier, and absorbs sound waves trapped in empty door and panel cavities.

Self-adhesive with waterproof construction suitable for doors, roof, floor, firewall, boot, and any metal panel surface.

How does Roadkill Ultimate differ from standard Roadkill Expert?

Roadkill Expert is a single-layer butyl damping sheet — it targets panel vibration and resonance. Roadkill Ultimate adds an aluminium layer and an acoustic foam layer on top of the butyl, combining vibration damping, heat dissipation, and high-frequency sound absorption in a single sheet. Ultimate is the premium option that eliminates the need to apply two separate materials.

What surfaces can the RKU8 be applied to?

All metal panel surfaces — doors (inner skin), roof, floor, firewall, boot floor, and transmission tunnel. Do not apply directly to plastic panels or soft trim components.

Is this product self-adhesive?

Yes. The butyl bottom layer is self-adhesive. Clean the metal surface (wax and grease remover recommended), peel the backing, and press the sheet firmly onto the panel. Use the Stinger RKINSTALL roller to ensure full contact and maximum adhesion.

How much coverage does 8 sq ft provide?

Two sheets at 18" × 32" (approx. 46cm × 81cm) — enough to treat one standard car door fully, or two partial panel areas. For a full interior treatment, multiple kits are required. Contact the F.A.E. team for guidance on how many kits are needed for your vehicle.

Does Roadkill Ultimate replace the need for the RKCP12 carpet pad?

No. Roadkill Ultimate is applied to the bare metal panel surface. The RKCP12 carpet pad is placed under the factory carpet on top of the treated floor. They are complementary products — use Roadkill Ultimate on the floor metal first, then lay the RKCP12 on top before replacing the carpet.
