Product Overview

The Stinger RKCP12 is a dual-layer carpet foam damping pad designed to be placed between the factory floor and the existing carpet or vinyl covering in your vehicle. It combines a high-density semi-closed cell foam layer for cushioning and insulation with a high-mass butyl-vinyl decoupling layer for effective road noise reduction across a broad frequency range.

Installed under the floor carpet, the RKCP12 significantly reduces low-frequency road and transmission hump noise, reduces driving fatigue, and improves cabin temperature regulation helping keep the interior cooler in summer and warmer in winter without extra load on the HVAC system. Odourless and non-toxic no unpleasant smells after installation.

Easy to install: roll out, mark to shape with a texta, and cut with scissors or a knife to fit the floor profile.

The RKCP12 carpet pad is not adhesive — it sits between the metal floor (or over the applied Roadkill Expert) and the factory carpet, adding foam cushioning and an additional decoupling layer for road noise reduction. For best results, use both together.

Does this require adhesive to install?

No. The RKCP12 is not adhesive — it is simply cut to shape and laid under the factory carpet, which holds it in position. No glue or bonding is required.

Does this work for thermal insulation as well as sound?

Yes. The high-density foam layer acts as thermal insulation, reducing heat transfer through the floor. This helps keep the cabin cooler in summer and warmer in winter, reducing HVAC load.

Is 12 square feet enough to cover a full vehicle floor?
