Product features

The Simarine SC303 is an active combination shunt for the Simarine PICO battery monitor. It measures current up to 300A continuous and has two voltage inputs, two resistive inputs for tank level or temperature, and one temperature sensor socket. The voltage inputs read systems up to 75V.

Why fit a shunt

Battery voltage alone will not tell you how much charge is left, especially with lithium. A shunt counts every amp going in and out, so the PICO can show real state of charge and how long you have left at the current load. Hang an inverter, a fridge or an anchor winch off the same bank and you can see what each one is costing you.

Install notes

The shunt goes in the battery negative, with every load and charger negative on the system side of the shunt. Anything wired straight to the battery negative will not be counted. Use lugs to suit M10 studs and torque them firmly.

Does it work without a PICO display?

Simarine designed it for the PICO monitor.

Can it monitor my water tank?

Yes, with a resistive sender on one of the two resistive inputs.

Will it suit a 24V system?

The shunt is powered from 6V to 35V, so it suits 12V and 24V banks.

Is the PICO display included with the SC303?

No. You get the shunt only. The PICO display and SiCOM leads are separate Simarine parts.
