The Projecta CLC100R-10 is the Rubber Cable Lug Cover, Red. A red rubber cable lug cover to insulate an exposed battery connection.
Use red on the positive cable so polarity is obvious. Slide the cover onto the cable before crimping or fitting the terminal, then pull it over the joint.
A cover stops a dropped spanner or a loose bracket shorting the positive to the body.
Projecta lists these covers as made in Italy from rubber and PVC.
Covers also keep dirt and moisture off the joint, which slows corrosion. Check covers at each service and replace any that have split or gone hard. Red and black covers make the job clearer for the next person working on the vehicle. Size the cover to the cable so it grips and does not slide off. A loose or dirty connection can look like a flat battery or a failing alternator. White or green crust on a terminal is corrosion, and it adds resistance to the circuit. Check that every bolt is tight and nothing can rub through insulation once the job is finished. See the rest of the Projecta range for matching parts.
This comes with the manufacturer's warranty through the Australian distributor. See the manufacturer's terms for details, plus our guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
It is rubber.
Thread it onto the cable before the lug or terminal is fitted, then slide it over the finished joint.
It is a cable lug cover, to insulate a crimped lug joint.
Red is the usual marking for the positive side.
