Quick answer

The Projecta BTS-2 is the Lead Battery Post Shims, Positive and Negative. Lead shims that convert small Japanese battery posts to suit large post terminals.

The blister holds two, one positive and one negative. Lead is soft, so it moulds to the post for a secure fit.

Fit the shim, then tighten the terminal over it.

Tighten firmly but do not crush the post; a lead post deforms easily. Check the terminal again after the first week, as new cable can settle under the clamp. If the old terminal was badly corroded, cut the cable back to clean copper before fitting the new one. Keep the positive covered so a spanner cannot bridge it to the body. After fitting, a thin smear of terminal grease or spray protector slows corrosion. Measure the post and the cable before ordering; a terminal that is too big for the post will never clamp properly. Check that every bolt is tight and nothing can rub through insulation once the job is finished. Engine bay heat and vibration are hard on connections, so check them at each service.
