The Projecta BT611-P1 is the Positive Saddle Brass Battery Terminal, Blister of 1. Need to replace just one clamp? The BT611-P1 is a single positive saddle terminal.
Need to replace just one clamp? The BT611-P1 is a single positive saddle terminal. Size the cable first: this one is listed for 20 to 35 mm², 4 to 2 B and S.
The cable sits under a clamping saddle, so bare cable is held without a crimped lug. Forged brass conducts well and copes with the heat and vibration of an engine bay.
Check polarity before fitting: this suits the positive post only. Clean the post back to bright metal before fitting, and coat the joint once tightened.
Measure the post and the cable before ordering; a terminal that is too big for the post will never clamp properly. Check the terminal again after the first week, as new cable can settle under the clamp. Keep the positive covered so a spanner cannot bridge it to the body. If the old terminal was badly corroded, cut the cable back to clean copper before fitting the new one. Tighten firmly but do not crush the post; a lead post deforms easily. One positive saddle terminal, packed on its own.
Projecta lists 20 to 35 mm², 4 to 2 B and S for the main cable.
No. Positive posts are slightly larger than negative ones, so this positive terminal is sized for the positive post only.
Cut the cable back to clean, bright copper if the old end is green or black, then fit the new terminal and tighten it firmly.
Yes. Once it is tight, a thin coat of terminal grease or protector spray over the joint slows corrosion.
