The Projecta BT142-P1 is the Positive Bolt Brass Battery Terminal, Blister of 1. Need to replace just one clamp? The BT142-P1 is a single positive bolt terminal.
Need to replace just one clamp? The BT142-P1 is a single positive bolt terminal. Lugs sit on a 5/16 inch or 8 mm stud.
The bolt style holds ring lugs firmly with a nut, the usual choice where vibration is a concern. Forged brass conducts well and copes with the heat and vibration of an engine bay.
Marked positive, it is sized for the positive post; the two are not interchangeable. Before fitting, clean any corrosion off the post so the terminal seats properly.
Measure the post and the cable before ordering; a terminal that is too big for the post will never clamp properly. If the old terminal was badly corroded, cut the cable back to clean copper before fitting the new one. After fitting, a thin smear of terminal grease or spray protector slows corrosion. Check the terminal again after the first week, as new cable can settle under the clamp. Keep the positive covered so a spanner cannot bridge it to the body. This comes with the manufacturer's warranty through the Australian distributor. See the manufacturer's terms for details, plus our guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
One positive bolt terminal, packed on its own.
The stud is 5/16 inch or 8 mm. Use lugs with a hole to match.
No. Positive posts are slightly larger than negative ones, so this positive terminal is sized for the positive post only.
Cut the cable back to clean, bright copper if the old end is green or black, then fit the new terminal and tighten it firmly.
Yes. Once it is tight, a thin coat of terminal grease or protector spray over the joint slows corrosion.
