The OEX ACX1848 is a 200A Type III heavy duty manual reset circuit breaker designed for very high-current circuit protection in automotive, marine, caravan and 4WD applications. Unlike a blade fuse, this circuit breaker can be manually reset after tripping, eliminating the need to carry spare fuses and reducing downtime in the field. IP67 waterproof and dustproof housing with stainless steel 9.5mm studs and rubber protective caps. Rated up to 72VDC. The switchable function also allows the breaker to operate as a manual isolation switch. Covered by a one year warranty.
The ACX1848 is the highest-rated circuit breaker in the OEX Type III manual reset series at 200A, suited to the most demanding high-current protection applications where even the 150A ACX1847 is undersized. Very high-draw main battery supply circuits, high-capacity winch and recovery equipment, large dual battery installations with high current demand, marine main power feeds, and solar and battery storage systems at 12V, 24V or 48V are the primary applications.
All specifications are shared with the rest of the Type III series Type III switchable for both overcurrent protection and manual isolation, IP67 waterproof and dustproof housing, 9.5mm stainless steel studs for heavy gauge cable lugs and ring terminals, rubber stud caps and up to 72VDC. The manual reset function requires deliberate operator action to restore the circuit after a trip, preventing repeated cycling into a fault condition.
200A rating highest in the OEX Type III series: Suited to very high-draw main battery supply circuits, high-capacity winch and recovery equipment, large dual battery installations and marine main power feeds where lower-rated breakers would be undersized.
Manual reset (switchable): Resets after tripping without replacing a fuse, reducing downtime in the field. Can also function as a manual isolation switch.
Type III heavy duty construction: Robust housing for demanding automotive, marine and 4WD environments.
IP67 waterproof and dustproof: Fully sealed against dust and temporary water immersion, suited to exposed, underbonnet and deck-mounted installations.
Up to 72VDC: Suits 12V, 24V and 48V DC electrical systems including solar and battery storage applications.
Stainless steel 9.5mm studs: Corrosion-resistant terminations for heavy cable connections. Select cable lugs and ring terminals with a 9.5mm hole to suit.
Rubber stud caps: Protect terminals from moisture, corrosion and accidental contact.
One year warranty: Covered by a one year OEX warranty.

What is the advantage of a circuit breaker over a fuse? A circuit breaker can be manually reset after it trips, whereas a fuse must be replaced. In remote or off-road situations where carrying spare fuses may not be practical, a resettable circuit breaker provides a significant convenience and safety advantage. This breaker can also be used as a manual isolation switch when required.
How does the ACX1848 compare to the rest of the OEX Type III series? The ACX1848 is rated at 200A, the highest in the OEX Type III series, extending above the ACX1847 (150A), ACX1846 (100A), ACX1845 (80A), ACX1844 (60A) and ACX1843 (50A). All share the same Type III switchable design, 9.5mm stainless studs, IP67 rating and up to 72VDC voltage range. Select based on your circuit's current requirements.
What cable termination size does this breaker use? The breaker uses 9.5mm stainless steel studs. Select cable lugs and ring terminals with a 9.5mm hole to suit these studs.
Is this breaker suitable for marine use? Yes. The IP67 rating confirms full dust protection and resistance to temporary water immersion. Stainless steel studs and rubber caps further protect the terminals from corrosion in marine environments.
Where should this circuit breaker be installed? As close as practical to the power source ideally within 300mm of the battery terminal or distribution point to minimise the length of unprotected cable between the battery and the breaker.
