Shipping information

We offer fast and reliable shipping options to ensure that your order arrives in a timely manner. Our dedicated team works diligently to process and ship your items as quickly as possible.

Here are some key points to note about our shipping policy:

Standard Shipping

  • Frankies offers a $15.95 flat rate for Australia-wide shipping, no matter how many items you order. Some larger or heavier items may incur an additional fee, which will be communicated to you when your order is processed.
  • While we endeavour to dispatch all orders promptly, please be advised that due to the current national fuel shortages in Australia and the resulting pressure on logistics networks, order processing and dispatch may take up to 7 business days. We are not liable for delays caused by third-party freight carriers or fuel-related logistical disruptions. By placing an order, you acknowledge that delivery timeframes may be extended beyond our standard estimates during this period.

Estimated delivery times:

  • WA, NT, and TAS: currently experiencing longer shipping times
  • Holiday periods (e.g. Christmas): deliveries may be delayed due to increased freight volumes

Express Shipping

  • Express shipping is available and calculated based on your delivery location, as well as the size and weight of your order. To receive an accurate quote, please contact our Albion Park Rail store and request an "express shipping quote." Our team will promptly assist with pricing and availability. Payment for express shipping can be securely arranged over the phone.

OEX ACX1846 100A Type III Heavy Duty Switchable Manual Reset Circuit Breaker IP67 9.5mm Studs Up to 72VDC

The OEX ACX1846 is a 100A Type III heavy duty manual reset circuit breaker the highest-rated model in the OEX Type III series, suited to the most demanding high-current protection applications including large lithium battery systems, high-capacity inverters, winch motor feeds and heavy commercial vehicle main circuit protection. All specifications are identical to the ACX1843 (50A), ACX1844 (60A) and ACX1845 (80A) 9.5mm stainless steel studs, IP67, up to 72VDC and switchable Type III design at a 100A current rating. Covered by a one year warranty.

Product overview

The ACX1846 is the highest-rated circuit breaker in the OEX Type III manual reset series at 100A, providing maximum overcurrent protection capacity for applications that exceed the 80A ACX1845 rating. Large lithium battery main feeds and BMS protection, high-capacity inverter protection (1000W and above at 12V), heavy commercial vehicle main circuit protection, large solar system charge controller and battery feed protection, and mining and industrial vehicle auxiliary electrical systems are the primary applications.

All other specifications are shared with the rest of the Type III series Type III switchable for both overcurrent protection and manual isolation, IP67 waterproof and dustproof housing, 9.5mm stainless steel studs for heavy gauge cable lugs, rubber stud caps and up to 72VDC covering 12V, 24V and 48V systems. As with all manual reset breakers, deliberate operator action is required to restore the circuit after a trip.

Features and benefits

100A highest rated in the OEX Type III series: Maximum overcurrent protection capacity in the series, suited to large lithium battery main feeds, high-capacity inverters, heavy commercial vehicle circuits and large solar system protection.

Type III switchable circuit breaker and isolation switch: Functions as both a manual reset circuit breaker and a manual on/off isolation switch.

Up to 72VDC: Covers 12V, 24V and 48V electrical systems including lithium battery, solar and EV auxiliary circuits.

9.5mm stainless steel studs: High-current corrosion-resistant connection points accommodating heavy gauge cable lugs.

IP67 waterproof and dustproof: Complete dust exclusion and temporary water immersion rating, suited to exposed, external and marine installations.

Rubber stud caps: Protect stud terminals from moisture, contamination and accidental short circuit.

Manual reset: Requires deliberate operator action to restore the circuit after a trip.

One year warranty: Covered by a one year OEX warranty.

Frequently asked questions

How does the ACX1846 differ from the rest of the Type III series? All four Type III models (ACX1843 50A, ACX1844 60A, ACX1845 80A, ACX1846 100A) share identical specifications 9.5mm stainless studs, IP67, switchable and up to 72VDC. The ACX1846 is rated at 100A, the highest in the range, for the most demanding high-current applications.

What wire gauge suits a 100A circuit breaker? A minimum of 16mm² (approximately 5AWG or 4 B&S) automotive grade cable is typically recommended for 100A continuous circuits up to approximately 5 metres. For longer runs, upsize further. Always match wire gauge to both current draw and cable run length.

Is this suitable for lithium battery main feeds? Yes. The 100A rating and up to 72VDC voltage range suit lithium battery main circuit protection and BMS protection. Confirm the battery system's maximum charge and discharge current before selecting the appropriate breaker rating.

What does "Type III switchable" mean? A Type III manual reset circuit breaker also functions as a manual on/off switch for deliberate circuit isolation in addition to overcurrent protection. This adds isolation functionality not available in a standard manual reset breaker.

Where should this circuit breaker be installed? As close as practical to the power source ideally within 300mm of the battery terminal or distribution point to minimise the length of unprotected cable between the battery and the breaker.
