We offer fast and reliable shipping options to ensure that your order arrives in a timely manner. Our dedicated team works diligently to process and ship your items as quickly as possible.

Here are some key points to note about our shipping policy:

Standard Shipping

  • Frankies offers a $15.95 flat rate for Australia-wide shipping, no matter how many items you order. Some larger or heavier items may incur an additional fee, which will be communicated to you when your order is processed.
  • While we endeavour to dispatch all orders promptly, please be advised that due to the current national fuel shortages in Australia and the resulting pressure on logistics networks, order processing and dispatch may take up to 7 business days. We are not liable for delays caused by third-party freight carriers or fuel-related logistical disruptions. By placing an order, you acknowledge that delivery timeframes may be extended beyond our standard estimates during this period.

Estimated delivery times:

  • WA, NT, and TAS: currently experiencing longer shipping times
  • Holiday periods (e.g. Christmas): deliveries may be delayed due to increased freight volumes

Express Shipping

  • Express shipping is available and calculated based on your delivery location, as well as the size and weight of your order. To receive an accurate quote, please contact our Albion Park Rail store and request an "express shipping quote." Our team will promptly assist with pricing and availability. Payment for express shipping can be securely arranged over the phone.

OEX ACX1845 80A Type III Heavy Duty Switchable Manual Reset Circuit Breaker IP67 9.5mm Studs Up to 72VDC

The OEX ACX1845 is an 80A Type III heavy duty manual reset circuit breaker the highest-rated model in the OEX Type III series, suited to the highest-current circuits in dual battery systems, large inverters and heavy-duty commercial and 4WD applications. All specifications are identical to the ACX1843 (50A) and ACX1844 (60A) 9.5mm stainless steel studs, IP67, up to 72VDC and switchable Type III design with an 80A current rating. Covered by a one year warranty.

Product overview

The ACX1845 is the highest-rated circuit breaker in the OEX Type III manual reset range at 80A, providing the maximum overcurrent protection capacity in the series for circuits that exceed the 60A ACX1844 rating. Large dual battery and lithium battery system feeds, high-capacity inverter protection, heavy commercial vehicle and mining circuits and large solar system charge controller protection are the primary applications. All other specifications are shared with the ACX1843 and ACX1844 no new features, just more current capacity.

The Type III switchable design allows the breaker to function as both a manual reset circuit breaker and a manual on/off isolation switch. The IP67 housing provides complete dust exclusion and protection against temporary water immersion. The 9.5mm stainless steel studs with rubber caps accommodate heavy gauge cable lugs for high-current connections. The 72VDC voltage range covers 12V, 24V and 48V systems including lithium battery, solar and EV auxiliary applications. The manual reset function requires deliberate operator action to restore the circuit after a trip.

Frequently asked questions

How does the ACX1845 differ from the ACX1844 and ACX1843? All three are identical Type III heavy duty manual reset circuit breakers with 9.5mm stainless studs, IP67, switchable and up to 72VDC. The ACX1845 is rated at 80A, the ACX1844 at 60A and the ACX1843 at 50A. Select based on your circuit's current requirements.

What wire gauge suits an 80A circuit breaker? A minimum of 10mm² (approximately 7AWG or 6 B&S) automotive grade cable is typically recommended for 80A continuous circuits up to approximately 5 metres. For longer runs or high-duty-cycle applications, upsize to 16mm². Always match wire gauge to both the current draw and the cable run length.

What does "Type III switchable" mean? A Type III manual reset circuit breaker also functions as a manual on/off switch, allowing deliberate isolation of the circuit in addition to overcurrent protection. This adds isolation functionality not available in a standard manual reset breaker.

Is this suitable for lithium battery systems? Yes. The 80A rating and up to 72VDC voltage range suit lithium battery system protection. Confirm the system's maximum charge and discharge current before selecting the appropriate breaker rating.

Where should this circuit breaker be installed? As close as practical to the power source ideally within 300mm of the battery terminal or distribution point to minimise the length of unprotected cable between the battery and the breaker.
