Shipping information

We offer fast and reliable shipping options to ensure that your order arrives in a timely manner. Our dedicated team works diligently to process and ship your items as quickly as possible.

Here are some key points to note about our shipping policy:

Standard Shipping

  • Frankies offers a $15.95 flat rate for Australia-wide shipping, no matter how many items you order. Some larger or heavier items may incur an additional fee, which will be communicated to you when your order is processed.
  • While we endeavour to dispatch all orders promptly, please be advised that due to the current national fuel shortages in Australia and the resulting pressure on logistics networks, order processing and dispatch may take up to 7 business days. We are not liable for delays caused by third-party freight carriers or fuel-related logistical disruptions. By placing an order, you acknowledge that delivery timeframes may be extended beyond our standard estimates during this period.

Estimated delivery times:

  • WA, NT, and TAS: currently experiencing longer shipping times
  • Holiday periods (e.g. Christmas): deliveries may be delayed due to increased freight volumes

Express Shipping

  • Express shipping is available and calculated based on your delivery location, as well as the size and weight of your order. To receive an accurate quote, please contact our Albion Park Rail store and request an "express shipping quote." Our team will promptly assist with pricing and availability. Payment for express shipping can be securely arranged over the phone.

OEX ACX1844 60A Type III Heavy Duty Switchable Manual Reset Circuit Breaker IP67 9.5mm Studs Up to 72VDC

The OEX ACX1844 is a 60A Type III heavy duty manual reset circuit breaker the higher-amperage version of the ACX1843 (50A), sharing identical specifications apart from the 60A current rating. Suited to higher-draw circuits including large dual battery systems, heavy winches, inverters and high-current commercial vehicle accessories where the 50A ACX1843 falls short. Type III switchable, IP67, 9.5mm stainless steel studs with rubber caps, and up to 72VDC voltage range. Covered by a one year warranty.

Product overview

The ACX1844 is the highest-rated circuit breaker in the OEX manual reset range at 60A, suited to the most demanding high-current circuits where the ACX1843 (50A) and ACX1842 (30A) are undersized. Large dual battery main feeds, heavy winches, power inverters and high-current commercial vehicle and mining circuits are the primary applications. All other specifications are identical to the ACX1843 Type III switchable for both overcurrent protection and manual isolation, IP67 waterproof and dustproof housing, 9.5mm stainless steel studs for heavier gauge cable lugs, rubber stud caps and up to 72VDC covering 12V, 24V and 48V systems.

The manual reset function requires deliberate operator action to restore the circuit after a trip, ensuring the fault is identified before re-energising. The Type III switchable classification adds an isolation function, allowing the breaker to manually open and close the circuit in addition to providing overcurrent protection useful in applications where both functions are needed without installing a separate isolation switch.

Features and benefits

60A heavy duty rating: The highest rating in the OEX manual reset circuit breaker range, suited to large dual battery feeds, heavy winches, inverters and high-current commercial vehicle circuits where the 50A ACX1843 is undersized.

Type III switchable circuit breaker and isolation switch: Functions as both a manual reset circuit breaker and a manual on/off isolation switch.

Up to 72VDC: Covers 12V, 24V and 48V electrical systems including solar, dual battery, marine and EV auxiliary circuits.

9.5mm stainless steel studs: Corrosion-resistant high-current connection points accommodating heavier gauge cable lugs.

IP67 waterproof and dustproof: Complete dust exclusion and temporary water immersion rating, suited to exposed, external and marine installations.

Rubber stud caps: Protect stud terminals from moisture, contamination and accidental short circuit.

Manual reset: Requires deliberate operator action to restore the circuit after a trip.

One year warranty: Covered by a one year OEX warranty.

Frequently asked questions

How does the ACX1844 differ from the ACX1843? Both are Type III heavy duty manual reset circuit breakers with identical specifications 9.5mm stainless studs, IP67, up to 72VDC and switchable. The ACX1844 is rated at 60A and the ACX1843 is rated at 50A. Select the ACX1844 for circuits drawing between 50A and 60A, or where a higher protection threshold is required.

What wire gauge suits a 60A circuit breaker? A minimum of 8mm² (approximately 8AWG or 8 B&S) automotive grade cable is typically recommended for 60A continuous circuits up to approximately 5 metres. For longer runs or high-duty-cycle applications, upsize to 10mm² or larger. Always match wire gauge to both the current draw and the cable run length.

What does "Type III switchable" mean? A Type III manual reset circuit breaker also functions as a manual on/off switch, allowing the operator to manually open and close the circuit in addition to providing overcurrent protection. This adds isolation functionality not available in a standard manual reset breaker.

Is this suitable for 48V solar systems? Yes. The ACX1844 is rated up to 72VDC, covering 12V, 24V and 48V applications including solar charge controller protection on larger systems.

Where should this circuit breaker be installed? As close as practical to the power source ideally within 300mm of the battery terminal or distribution point to minimise the length of unprotected cable between the battery and the breaker.
