The OEX ACX1105 is a split convoluted tubing sleeve in 9.7mm internal diameter, supplied in a 125m length in black. Manufactured from fire retardant polypropylene, the split design allows cables to be inserted from the side without threading. At 9.7mm ID and 12.8mm OD with a maximum bundle size of 9.9mm, it accommodates larger cable bundles than the 7mm range. Rated to 90°C continuous with a melting temperature of 120°C. Covered by a one year warranty.
The ACX1105 is the 9.7mm fire retardant polypropylene option in the OEX split convoluted tubing range, combining the larger internal diameter of the ACX1104 with the fire retardant material specification of the 7mm ACX1102 and ACX1100/400 range. This makes it suited to workshops that regularly use 9.7mm tubing for medium-sized cable bundles and require the added safety margin of fire retardant polypropylene over standard corrugated polypropylene.
The fire retardant polypropylene material resists ignition and self-extinguishes if a flame source is removed. The split design allows cables to be pressed in from the side along the lengthwise opening without threading from one end, making it practical for retrofitting protection to installed harnesses without disconnecting connectors. The 125m roll is a mid-to-high volume trade format suited to workshops running regular wiring protection work across automotive, 4WD, caravan, trailer and marine installations.
Split design for retrofit installation: Cables snap in from the side without threading, allowing the tubing to be added to existing wiring runs without disconnecting connectors or rerouting cables.
Fire retardant polypropylene: Resists ignition and self-extinguishes if a flame source is removed, providing an added safety margin over standard polypropylene in automotive wiring environments.
9.7mm internal diameter and 12.8mm outside diameter: Accommodates larger cable bundles than the 7mm range, with a maximum bundle size of 9.9mm suited to medium-sized wire bundles and individual larger-gauge cables.
Black: Supplied in black, suited to standard automotive wiring presentation.
Convoluted construction: Flexible and bendable while maintaining cable protection against abrasion and chafing, suited to routing through bends and tight spaces.
90°C continuous temperature rating: Suited to automotive and underbonnet environments where sustained heat is present.
120°C melting temperature: Provides a safety margin above the continuous rating for short-duration heat exposure.
125m roll: Mid-to-high volume trade format for workshops running regular wiring protection work at the 9.7mm size.
One year warranty: Covered by a one year OEX warranty.

What is split convoluted tubing? Split convoluted tubing is a flexible ribbed sleeving with a lengthwise split along one side. Cables can be pressed into the split opening rather than threaded through from the end, making it easy to add protection to existing wiring without disconnecting anything. The convoluted ribbed construction gives it flexibility and abrasion resistance.
What is fire retardant polypropylene? Polypropylene is a lightweight, chemical-resistant thermoplastic commonly used for convoluted tubing. The fire retardant grade used in this product resists ignition and self-extinguishes if a flame source is removed, providing an added safety margin in automotive wiring environments over standard polypropylene sleeving.
How does the ACX1105 compare to the ACX1104? Both are 9.7mm split convoluted tubing with the same internal and outside diameter. The ACX1104 is made from corrugated polypropylene with a UL HB or V2 flammability rating and is supplied on a 30m workshop roll. The ACX1105 is made from fire retardant polypropylene and is supplied on a 125m mid-to-high volume trade roll. Select the ACX1104 for single-vehicle workshop jobs and the ACX1105 for regular workshop use where fire retardant material is preferred.
Is this tubing suitable for underbonnet use? Yes. The 90°C continuous temperature rating and 120°C melting temperature make it suitable for most automotive underbonnet environments. For areas with sustained extreme heat exposure, verify the ambient temperature against the tubing rating before use.
How do I cut split convoluted tubing to length? Split convoluted tubing can be cut with scissors, side cutters or a sharp blade. Cut between the ribs rather than through them for a cleaner end.
