The OEX ACX0137FE is a 90-degree flared end copper cable lug with zinc plating for 8 B&S wire. Reference number 10 6 indicates a 10mm barrel inner diameter and a 6mm stud hole. The 90-degree angle means the ring faces perpendicular to the cable run, unlike a straight lug where the cable and ring are in line. The flared barrel entry guides cable strands cleanly into the barrel for consistent crimping or soldering. Supplied in a pack of 10 with a one year warranty.
A straight lug has the cable and ring in the same line, with the cable going straight into the barrel and the ring exiting from the same end. The ACX0137FE places the barrel and ring at right angles to each other. This is useful when the terminal or bolt faces a direction perpendicular to the cable routing, such as connecting to a vertical terminal stud when the cable runs horizontally along a panel, or routing cable through a bulkhead to a terminal on the other side. The 90-degree angle reduces the bend radius required from the cable itself and produces a neater, less stressed connection in confined or awkward installation spaces.
The flared end barrel guides the 8 B&S cable strands smoothly into the barrel during installation, reducing the chance of stray strands being left outside the crimp zone. Copper construction provides excellent conductivity and zinc plating adds corrosion resistance. Both crimping and soldering are accepted termination methods. The ACX0137FE shares the same REF 10-6 specification as the straight lug ACX0100 and suits the same 8 B&S wire and M6 connection points.
90-degree angle for right angle connections: The ring faces perpendicular to the cable barrel, suited to right angle connections and confined spaces where a straight lug would cause cable stress or an awkward bend in the cable run.
Flared end barrel for consistent installation: The outward flared barrel entry guides cable strands smoothly into the barrel, reducing stray strands outside the crimp zone for a complete, secure connection.
8 B&S wire capacity: The 10mm barrel suits 8 B&S cable, covering medium current automotive and 4WD accessory wiring applications up to approximately 40-50A depending on cable length and installation conditions.
6mm stud hole: The ring end fits M6 bolts, studs and terminals with 6mm connections.
Copper with zinc plating: Copper provides excellent electrical conductivity and zinc plating adds corrosion resistance for automotive and marine environments.
Solder or crimp termination: Compatible with both crimping and soldering.
Pack of 10: Ten lugs per pack suits workshop and trade use.
One year warranty: Covered by a one year OEX warranty.

Why would I use a 90-degree lug instead of a straight lug? A 90-degree lug places the barrel and ring at right angles, which is useful when the terminal or bolt faces a direction perpendicular to the cable routing. Examples include connecting to a vertical terminal stud when the cable runs horizontally along a panel, or routing cable through a bulkhead to a terminal on the other side. Using a 90-degree lug reduces the bend radius required from the cable itself and produces a neater, less stressed installation in confined spaces.
How does the ACX0137FE compare to the ACX0100? Both are REF 10-6 flared end lugs for 8 B&S wire with a 6mm stud hole. The ACX0100 is a standard straight lug and the ACX0137FE has the 90-degree angle. Choose the ACX0100 for standard straight run connections and the ACX0137FE where the connection point is perpendicular to the cable routing direction.
What does the flared end add to this lug? The flared barrel entry acts as a guide funnel for cable strands during installation, reducing stray strands outside the crimp zone. The same benefit applies in the 90-degree format as in straight flared end lugs, improving connection integrity and consistency.
Can these be used with the OEX 10mm stud battery terminals? No. The ACX0137FE has a 6mm stud hole and will not fit over a 10mm stud. The OEX ACX0025, ACX0026, ACX0027 and ACX0028 battery terminals all use 10mm studs and require a lug with a 10mm hole such as the ACX0116FE.
Does the 90-degree angle affect how I crimp the lug? The crimp is applied to the barrel section in the same way as a straight lug. The 90-degree angle is in the body of the lug between the barrel and the ring, not in the barrel itself. Standard ratchet crimpers suited to 8 B&S cable will work correctly on the barrel section of the ACX0137FE.
