The OEX ACX0100 is a copper cable lug with zinc plating, sized for 8 B&S wire with a 6mm stud hole. Reference number 10 6 indicates a 10mm barrel inner diameter and a 6mm stud hole diameter. The barrel is secured to the stripped cable end by crimping or soldering, and the ring end bolts to any M6 bolt, stud or terminal. Supplied in a pack of 10 with a one year warranty.
Cable lugs, also called ring terminals or eyelets, convert a bare cable end into a bolt on connection point. The stripped cable conductor is inserted into the barrel of the lug, the barrel is then crimped or soldered around the conductor to form a permanent mechanical and electrical joint, and the ring end is bolted to a stud, battery terminal, busbar or distribution block. The ACX0100 is sized for 8 B&S wire, which suits the 10mm barrel diameter, and the 6mm stud hole fits any M6 bolt or stud.
Copper construction provides excellent electrical conductivity, and the zinc plating adds corrosion resistance for use in automotive, marine and 4WD applications. The pack of 10 suits workshop, trade and fleet use across multiple installations. Confirm the stud size of the terminal or connection point before purchasing to ensure the 6mm hole suits your application.
Copper construction with zinc plating: Copper provides excellent electrical conductivity and the zinc plating adds corrosion resistance, suited to demanding automotive, marine and 4WD environments.
8 B&S wire size: The 10mm barrel inner diameter suits 8 B&S cable, providing a correct mechanical fit for crimping or soldering.
6mm stud hole: The ring end fits M6 bolts, studs and terminals with 6mm connections, covering a wide range of battery terminals, fuse panels and distribution blocks.
Solder or crimp termination: The barrel can be secured by crimping with appropriate lug crimping tooling or by soldering, giving installers flexibility based on available tools and preference.
Reference 10 6: The standard industry reference number for this lug, where 10 denotes the barrel inner diameter in millimetres and 6 denotes the stud hole diameter in millimetres.
Pack of 10: Ten lugs per pack suits workshop, trade and fleet use across multiple cable termination jobs.
One year warranty: Covered by a one year OEX warranty.

What is a cable lug and how is it used? A cable lug is fitted to the end of a stripped cable. The conductor is inserted into the barrel, which is then crimped or soldered to form a permanent mechanical and electrical connection. The ring end is bolted to a stud, battery terminal, busbar or connection point. Lugs convert a bare cable end into a secure, bolt on connection.
What does the reference number 10 6 mean? The two numbers in a cable lug reference indicate the barrel inner diameter and the stud hole diameter, both in millimetres. REF 10 6 means a 10mm barrel that accepts 8 B&S wire and a 6mm stud hole that fits M6 bolts and studs.
Should I solder or crimp this lug? Both methods produce reliable connections when carried out correctly. Crimping with a calibrated lug crimper is faster, more consistent and the preferred method in professional automotive and marine electrical work. Soldering provides a secure connection but requires correct heat application to avoid dry joints or heat damage to cable insulation. For most automotive and 4WD applications, crimping is recommended.
What wire size is 8 B&S? 8 B&S (Brown and Sharpe gauge) is approximately 8.4mm² cross section, a medium weight automotive cable suited to accessories drawing up to approximately 40 to 50A depending on cable length. Confirm the current rating of your cable and application before selecting a lug.
Will this lug fit the OEX battery terminals in this range? The 6mm stud hole suits M6 connections, standard for many battery terminals, fuse panels and distribution blocks. The OEX ACX0025, ACX0026, ACX0027 and ACX0028 battery terminals in this range use a 10mm stud, so this 6mm lug will not fit those terminals directly. Confirm the stud size of the terminal you are connecting to before purchasing.
