What is Class GD technology?
Class GD (Pure GD Ultra HD) is Match's proprietary amplifier technology that dynamically controls the internal power supply voltage in response to the amplifier's input signal amplitude. By continuously modulating the supply rail to match the signal level, idle losses are dramatically reduced and overall efficiency is maximised across all operating conditions, resulting in very low heat dissipation from a compact amplifier unit.
Does the UP 8DSP have RCA inputs?
No. The UP 8DSP uses high-level inputs only for signal input, with no RCA line-level inputs. Signal is accepted via the 6 high-level ADEP.3 inputs, optical SPDIF input, or MEC expansion card. A mono RCA output is provided for connecting an external subwoofer amplifier.
What is ADEP.3 and why does it matter for OEM integration?
ADEP.3 (Generation 3) is the smart high-level input circuit controlled by the ACO platform that correctly simulates the speaker load impedance expected by factory OEM head units with speaker load detection systems. This prevents error messages and loss of factory features when the UP 8DSP is connected to the factory speaker outputs of modern vehicles.
What optional accessories work with the UP 8DSP MEC slot?
The MEC (MATCH Extension Card) slot accepts optional expansion modules including Bluetooth HD audio streaming and high-resolution USB audio streaming cards, as well as the MEC ANA-LOG IN module for 1:1 Input-to-Output Routing. MEC accessories are sold separately.
How does the UP 8DSP differ from the Helix V Eight DSP Ultimate?
Both are 8-channel DSP amplifiers from Audiotec Fischer (the parent company of both Match and Helix) sharing the same ACO platform, 64-bit DSP, and ADEP.3 technology. The UP 8DSP (Match) is optimised for compact plug-and-play OEM integration with high-level inputs only, Class GD technology, and a 9-channel DSP at a smaller form factor. The V Eight DSP Ultimate (Helix) is the flagship performance unit with Class HD technology, 14-channel DSP, 12 high-level inputs plus 6 RCA inputs, USB PerfectStream, and higher maximum output power.
