Product Overview

The LED Autolamps LR24/2 is a twin pack of 21-watt equivalent load resistors designed for 24V vehicle electrical systems preventing the hyper-flashing and dashboard indicator error warnings that occur when LED indicator lamps replace traditional 21W incandescent globes on trucks, buses, trailers, and commercial vehicles.

When an LED indicator replaces a 21W incandescent globe, the dramatically lower current draw is detected by the vehicle's flasher unit or indicator monitoring circuit as a globe failure triggering fast flash rates or dashboard warning lights. The LR24/2 resistors simulate the electrical load of the original 21W globe, making the indicator circuit behave as if a standard incandescent globe is still fitted. Must be mounted to a metal surface for heat dissipation. IP67 rated and backed by LED Autolamps' 5-year warranty. Supplied as a twin pack two resistors per pack.

Why do I need load resistors when installing LED indicators?

LED indicator lamps draw far less current than the 21W incandescent globes they replace. Many 24V vehicle flasher units and indicator monitoring circuits interpret this low current draw as a globe failure causing hyper-flashing or dashboard warning lights. The LR24/2 load resistors add back the correct electrical load to prevent these issues.

Must this resistor be mounted to metal?

Yes mounting to a metal surface is mandatory. The aluminium housing dissipates heat through the metal mounting surface during normal operation. Mounting to plastic, fibreglass, or other non-conductive surfaces will cause the resistor to overheat and may result in damage or failure.

Is this product for 12V or 24V systems?
