The Kenwood DMX7509XDS is a 9-inch HD floating panel multimedia receiver with a 1280 x 720 capacitive touch display, wired and wireless Apple CarPlay, wired and wireless Android Auto, built-in DAB+ digital radio, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The DMX7509XDS centres on a 9-inch 1280 x 720 HD capacitive touch LCD panel with high-luminance white LED backlight and wide viewing angles. The floating panel mechanism allows 360-degree rotation and tilt adjustment so the screen can be positioned for the driver's sight line without modifying the fascia. Underneath, the chassis is 1 DIN height, making it easier to fit in vehicles with limited behind-dash space.

Apple CarPlay connects wired via USB or wirelessly over Wi-Fi. Android Auto connects the same way. Wireless smartphone mirroring is also available through the CarbitLink-EasyConnection app for compatible Android and iOS devices, allowing apps including navigation and media to display on the screen without a cable.

Two camera inputs allow a front and rear camera to be connected simultaneously. The rear camera input supports HD 1280 x 720 resolution from compatible cameras such as the CMOS-740HD and CMOS-150HD (sold separately). Built-in adjustable parking guidelines are included. The HDMI input connects smartphones and other HDMI devices via an optional KCA-HD200 cable (sold separately).

iDatalink Maestro RR and RR2 compatibility provides enhanced vehicle integration on supported vehicles. Direct OEM steering wheel remote control is supported on most Japanese and Korean vehicles without an adapter. The USB port delivers up to 2.1A for device charging.
