Product features

Running a fridge overnight and then wondering if the engine will turn over in the morning is a feeling most 4WD owners know. The LN4 MAX is built to take that worry away. It sits under the bonnet in place of your standard LN4 size starter, cranks with 1000 cold cranking amps, and still gives you 60Ah of lithium capacity for your 12V accessories.

If you do flatten it, a small reserve is held back by the battery management system. Press the button on top, or tap it in the Invicta Hybrid app, and you get 30 seconds to start the vehicle without hunting for a jump starter.

Why it suits under bonnet use

  • Dual BMS: lets the battery charge and discharge at a high rate, so it can handle winching as well as starting.
  • Charges straight from the alternator: the pouch cells and BMS accept the varying charge an alternator delivers.
  • Heat resistant build: a thermal protection layer protects the internals, and the BMS only disconnects at 80°C.
  • A123 pouch cells: chosen by Invicta for high rate discharge and charge and resistance to heat.
  • Bluetooth monitoring: check voltage, current, state of charge, state of health and temperature on your phone.
  • Standard LN4 case size: 315 x 174 x 190mm with SAE posts and an M8 insert.

Questions we get asked

What is the CCA rating of the LN4 MAX?
Invicta's specification sheet lists 1000 cold cranking amps, with 800A max continuous discharge and a 2100A pulse for 3 seconds.

Do I need a DC to DC charger to run it under the bonnet?
Invicta says the Hybrid range can be charged directly from the vehicle alternator. The recommended charge current is under 30A. If your vehicle has a smart alternator, give us a call and we can talk through your setup.

Why does the app show half the current I expect?
The LN4 MAX uses a dual BMS. Invicta notes that on SNLHMAX, SNLHMAXL and SNLHLN4MAX the current reading in the Hybrid app needs to be multiplied by 2 for an accurate figure.

How does the jump start feature work?
The BMS automatically reserves a small amount of capacity if the main capacity is over discharged. Press the button on top of the battery, or use the app, and you have 30 seconds to start the vehicle.

What warranty does it have?
The Invicta Hybrid Starter range carries a three year full replacement warranty backed by SPB.
