A Hi-Res Audio certified 4-channel Class D car amplifier delivering 760W total power from a compact aluminium diecast chassis, the Hertz CP 4.800 features Advanced D-Class (ADC) technology with 85% efficiency, Ready to Plug Molex connectivity, Universal Speaker Simulator (USS) input compatibility, and a comprehensive onboard control set including adjustable crossovers and bass boost across all four channels.
The Hertz CP 4.800 is a 4-channel (bridgeable to 3-channel and 2-channel) car amplifier from the Cento Power series, rated at 760W total power across its output configurations. Built on Hertz's Advanced D-Class (ADC) technology, the CP 4.800 achieves 85% efficiency within a compact aluminium diecast chassis, making it suited to installations in space-constrained modern vehicles or factory amplifier locations. Hi-Res Audio certification provides a frequency response of 10Hz to 41kHz, ensuring full dynamic range reproduction from high-resolution audio files.
The amplifier accepts both Pre-In and Speaker-In inputs, with Pre-In sensitivity adjustable from 0.32 to 8VRMS and Speaker-In sensitivity from 1.6 to 40VRMS. The built-in Universal Speaker Simulator (USS) allows correct connection to head units with speaker load detection functions. Automatic Remote Turn-On/Off activates from OEM radio speaker outputs via the ART function at 1.5VDC. Ready to Plug Molex connections and provided plug-and-play cables simplify installation. Full-range pre-outs are available with both input types. The HRC 02 remote control (sold separately) allows subwoofer level adjustment on the rear channel when the low-pass filter is engaged. The CP 4.800 is compatible with power supply voltages from 9 to 18VDC for electric vehicle compatibility.
Output power at 1% THD covers multiple configurations: 110W x 4 at 4Ch/4 ohms; 190W x 4 at 4Ch/2 ohms; 100W x 2 + 400W x 1 at 3Ch/4 ohms; 190W x 2 + 380W x 1 at 3Ch/2 ohms and 4 ohms; and 380W x 2 at 2Ch/4 ohms. Minimum load impedance is 2 ohms at 4-channel, 2+2+4 ohms at 3-channel, and 4 ohms at 2-channel configuration.
Hi-Res Audio Certified - 10Hz to 41kHz Frequency Response: The CP 4.800 holds Hi-Res Audio certification with a frequency response of 10Hz to 41kHz (-3dB), capturing the full dynamic range of high-resolution audio files and delivering audio detail beyond the 20kHz upper limit of standard audio equipment.
Advanced D-Class (ADC) Technology - 85% Efficiency: Hertz's ADC output stage delivers 85% power conversion efficiency, reducing heat generation and current draw while maintaining exceptional sound clarity. This enables the compact chassis form factor and makes the CP 4.800 suited to installation in tight modern vehicle spaces.
760W Total Power - Fully Bridgeable 4-Channel to 3-Channel and 2-Channel: The CP 4.800 delivers up to 760W total output across its configurations, with the amplifier fully bridgeable from 4-channel to 3-channel or 2-channel operation. In bridged 2-channel mode the amplifier delivers 380W x 2 at 4 ohms.
Universal Speaker Simulator (USS) - SB Head Unit Compatibility: The integrated USS technology allows the CP 4.800 to correctly connect to modern head units with speaker load detection functions, ensuring compatibility across a wide range of OEM and aftermarket head unit architectures without additional components.
Ready to Plug Molex Connections: Durable long-term Molex connectors and provided plug-and-play cables simplify and accelerate installation, reducing wiring complexity and connection time.
Pre-In and Speaker-In Inputs with Adjustable Sensitivity: Both Pre-In (0.32-8VRMS) and Speaker-In (1.6-40VRMS) inputs are provided with adjustable sensitivity. Balanced input circuitry on both input types provides advanced noise rejection.
Automatic Remote Turn-On/Off (ART): The ART function enables automatic remote turn-on and turn-off activated by OEM radio speaker outputs at 1.5VDC, eliminating the need for a dedicated remote turn-on wire when installing with OEM source units.
Independent High-Pass and Low-Pass Filters on All Four Channels: Both front and rear channels have independently adjustable high-pass (Full or 50-4000Hz at 12dB/Oct) and low-pass (Full or 50-4000Hz at 12dB/Oct) filters, providing complete crossover flexibility across all four channels from the accessible top panel controls.
Bass Boost and Sub Remote Volume Control: A bass boost of 0-9dB at 50Hz is adjustable from the top panel. The sub remote volume control provides -20 to +6dB adjustment on the rear channel when the low-pass filter is engaged, controllable via the HRC 02 remote (sold separately).
Full-Range Pre-Outs (Front Channel): Full-range pre-outs are provided on the front channel for connection of additional amplification stages.
Electric Vehicle Compatible: The CP 4.800 operates across a power supply range of 9 to 18VDC, suitable for conventional 12V automotive, hybrid, and electric vehicle applications.
Compact Aluminium Diecast Chassis with LED Status Indicator: The compact aluminium diecast housing provides structural rigidity and thermal management, with a solid machined terminal block, removable top panel shielding the control panel, and an LED status indicator.

What is the difference between the CP 4.800 and the CP 5.1K?
Both are from the Hertz Cento Power series and share the same ADC technology, Hi-Res Audio certification, USS, ART, Molex connections, and compact chassis design. The CP 4.800 is a 4-channel amplifier (bridgeable to 3 or 2 channels) rated at 760W total, while the CP 5.1K is a 5-channel amplifier (bridgeable to 3 channels) rated at 1030W total and includes a dedicated subwoofer channel with its own subsonic filter. Choose the CP 4.800 for a full-range four-channel installation or the CP 5.1K for a combined speaker and subwoofer system in a single unit.
What is the USS technology and when is it required?
The USS (Universal Speaker Simulator) is a built-in circuit that presents a low-impedance load to head units with speaker load detection functions. Some modern OEM and aftermarket head units disable audio output if no low-impedance speaker load is detected. The USS simulates the expected speaker load, ensuring the head unit enables its audio outputs correctly when the CP 4.800 is connected to the Pre-In inputs.
Can the CP 4.800 power a subwoofer?
Yes. In bridged 3-channel configuration, the rear channels can be bridged to deliver up to 400W at 4 ohms or 380W at 2/4 ohms for a subwoofer channel, while the front channels continue driving speakers. In bridged 2-channel mode, 380W x 2 at 4 ohms is available across both bridged pairs.
Does the CP 4.800 work in electric vehicles?
Yes. The CP 4.800 operates across a power supply range of 9 to 18VDC, covering the operating voltage ranges of conventional 12V automotive, hybrid, and electric vehicle systems.
What is the HRC 02 and is it included?
The HRC 02 is Hertz's optional remote control accessory that allows the rear channel volume to be adjusted from -20 to +6dB from within the vehicle cabin when the low-pass filter is engaged on the rear channel. The HRC 02 is not included with the CP 4.800 and must be purchased separately.
