GME TX6165XO 5/1 Watt IP67 UHF CB Handheld Radio Blaze Orange

Quick answer

The GME TX6165XO is an 80 channel handheld UHF CB radio with switchable 5/1 watt transmission, a 2 watt speaker, large high contrast display and IP67 water and dust protection. It lets you stay in direct radio contact across a work crew, touring convoy or camp without using phone reception.

Field use and hearing clearly

Background noise, a pocket or a cup holder can make a weak handheld speaker hard to hear. The TX6165 has a 2 watt speaker and a rotary power and volume knob. A user programmable button puts your chosen control within reach. Priority channel, dual watch and triple watch help track channels while you communicate.

The built in LED torch helps around camp or the vehicle. A separate torch is still sensible when the radio is your main contact with the group.

Battery life and work conditions

The 2600mAh Li-Ion battery provides a stated 18 hours at 5W or 30 hours at 1W, based on 5 percent transmitting, 5 percent receiving and 90 percent waiting mode. Practical duration changes with use.

GME gives the radio an IP67 rating. That means dust tight and waterproof when correctly and fully assembled and immersed at one metre depth for 30 minutes. Keep the covers and antenna assembled correctly and treat this rating as a limit, not an invitation to leave it submerged.
