The GME LE09 is a 12V DC hardwire power lead for permanent installation of most GME fixed mount radios, terminating in approximately 15mm of stripped red and black bare wire for direct connection to a vehicle battery, fuse panel, or DC power supply. The LE09 is the standard power lead included in the box with most GME fixed mount radios and is available here as a replacement or spare. Not suitable for the TX4600 or marine-style GME radios.
The LE09 is designed for permanent hardwire radio installations rather than temporary connection via a cigarette lighter socket. Stripped bare wire ends allow direct connection to ring terminals, blade terminals, or lugs at the vehicle battery or fuse box the standard method for permanent automotive radio installations that produces a secure, vibration-resistant connection.
The TX4600 and marine-style GME radios are excluded from the LE09's compatibility. These models require different power leads. Using the LE09 on an excluded model risks an incorrect connection. If unsure whether the LE09 suits your radio, contact us before purchasing.
For a permanent installation, the LE09 lead should be protected with an in-line fuse of the appropriate rating for the radio being installed. Refer to the radio's installation manual for the recommended fuse size.

Permanent installation: Designed for a clean, permanent wiring installation rather than a temporary lighter socket connection.
Red and black wire identification: Colour-coded for correct polarity connection during installation.
Standard included lead available as replacement: The LE09 is the power lead supplied in the box with most GME fixed mount radios. This listing provides a replacement if the original is lost or damaged.

What is the difference between the LE09 and a cigarette lighter power lead? The LE09 is a permanent hardwire lead terminating in bare stripped wire for direct connection to a battery, fuse panel, or DC supply. Cigarette lighter leads such as the LE016 and LE026 terminate in a lighter plug for temporary vehicle socket connections. The LE09 is for permanent radio installations; lighter leads are for portable or temporary use.
Why does the LE09 have stripped wire ends rather than a plug? Stripped bare wire ends allow the lead to be connected directly to ring terminals, blade terminals, or lugs at the vehicle battery or fuse box the standard method for permanent automotive radio installations. This creates a secure, vibration-resistant connection without the limitations of a cigarette lighter plug.
Why is the LE09 excluded from the TX4600 and marine radios? The TX4600 and marine-style GME radios use different power connector types or have different power requirements and require dedicated power leads. Using the LE09 on an excluded model risks an incorrect connection. Contact us to confirm the correct power lead for your specific radio.
Is the LE09 included with new GME radios? Yes. The LE09 is the standard power lead included in the box with most GME fixed mount radios. This listing is for a replacement if the original is lost, damaged, or a spare is needed.
What fuse rating should I use with the LE09? The LE09 is rated for 12V DC. For a permanent installation, protect the lead with an in-line fuse of the appropriate rating for your specific radio. Refer to the radio's installation manual for the recommended fuse size.
