The GME LE05B is a 5-metre marine grade RG58 coaxial AM/FM antenna lead for vessel installations. One end is fitted with a standard broadcast antenna plug (Motorola/DIN) that connects to the AM/FM aerial input of a marine stereo head unit. The other end features a 6mm U-shaped connector for secure connection to the vessel's antenna mounting point. Marine grade construction resists UV, salt spray, and moisture.
The LE05B provides a complete AM/FM antenna cable run from the vessel's antenna mount point to the marine stereo head unit. The 6mm U-shaped connector at the antenna end attaches to the vessel's antenna mount, the 5-metre RG58 cable routes through to the head unit position, and the broadcast antenna plug connects directly to the head unit's Motorola/DIN aerial input socket without any adaptor required.
The broadcast antenna plug (also called a Motorola plug or DIN aerial plug) is the standard connector for AM/FM aerial inputs on the large majority of marine and car head units. Marine grade RG58 means the outer jacket, insulation, and connectors resist UV degradation, salt spray, moisture ingress, and the corrosive effects of the marine environment beyond what standard automotive or indoor RG58 cable provides. Five metres suits most smaller vessel configurations where the antenna mount and head unit are in close proximity larger vessels with longer routing distances may require a different solution.
5m marine grade RG58 coaxial cable: 50-ohm coaxial cable with marine-rated construction for UV, salt spray, and moisture resistance in vessel installations.
Broadcast antenna plug (Motorola/DIN) at the head unit end: Standard AM/FM aerial plug that connects directly to most marine stereo head units without an adaptor.
6mm U-shaped connector at the antenna end: Provides a secure connection to the vessel's antenna mount point at a standard 6mm fitting.
5-metre length: Suited to smaller vessel configurations where the antenna mount and head unit are in close proximity.

What does the LE05B connect and how is it used? The LE05B connects the vessel's AM/FM antenna mount to the marine stereo head unit. The 6mm U-shaped connector attaches to the vessel's antenna mount point, the 5-metre RG58 cable routes to the head unit, and the broadcast antenna plug connects to the head unit's aerial input. The result is a complete AM/FM antenna cable run from antenna to receiver.
What is the broadcast antenna plug and which stereos does it suit? The broadcast antenna plug (also called a Motorola plug or DIN aerial plug) is the standard connector for AM/FM aerial inputs on most marine and car head units. No adaptor is required between the LE05B and a standard Motorola/DIN aerial socket.
What is the 6mm U-shaped connector used for? The U-shaped connector at the antenna end attaches to the vessel's antenna mount point at a standard 6mm fitting. This is a common connection method in marine antenna installations where the antenna base or mount accepts a U-bolt or U-shaped cable termination.
What is marine grade RG58? RG58 is a 50-ohm coaxial cable specification used in marine RF and antenna applications. Marine grade means the outer jacket and insulation resist UV degradation, salt spray, moisture ingress, and the corrosive effects of the marine environment, providing a longer reliable service life than standard automotive or indoor RG58 cable.
Is 5m enough cable for most vessel installations? Five metres suits smaller vessels where the antenna mount and head unit are in close proximity. Larger vessels or installations with longer routing distances may require additional cable length. Contact us if a longer cable run is needed for your specific installation.
