The GME LE012 is a 12V DC cigarette lighter lead that allows GME BCD-series desktop chargers to be powered from a vehicle's 12V cigarette lighter or auxiliary power socket rather than from mains 240V power. This enables handheld radio batteries to be charged in a vehicle while travelling, camping, or operating away from shore power. Confirmed for the BCD001, BCD003, BCD008, and BCD013 chargers.
The LE012 connects the BCD-series desktop charger to the vehicle's 12V cigarette lighter socket, allowing the charger to operate from the vehicle's electrical system. Radio batteries can be charged while the vehicle is in use or parked suited to 4WD touring, camping, agricultural, and emergency service applications where mains power is unavailable.
The LE012 is rated for 12V DC. Connecting a 12V-rated lead to an unregulated 24V supply without a voltage regulator can damage the charger. Most 24V vehicles have 12V converter circuits or 12V auxiliary sockets available contact us if your vehicle operates on 24V before purchasing.
The LE012 and LE016 are different leads for different products. The LE016 suits fixed mobile radios including the TX4600, TX4800, GX300W, and GX300B. The LE012 suits BCD-series desktop chargers. The two are not interchangeable.
