The GME HS010 is a security-style acoustic tube earphone and lapel microphone designed for the TX685 and TX6150 handheld UHF CB radios. Unlike standard earpiece microphones, the HS010 uses a clear acoustic tube to route audio from a transducer worn at the lapel or collar to the ear canal the same discreet style used by security staff, event marshals, and emergency services personnel. Very little hardware is visible at the ear, with only the thin clear tube entering the ear.
The lapel microphone and transducer connect to the collar or lapel via a swivel-style connector for comfortable positioning. In-line PTT (Push-to-Talk) and VOX (Voice-Activated Transmission) switches are included for manual or hands-free operation. The radio stays clipped away from the hand while the user communicates through the lapel mic and earphone.

A standard earpiece microphone has a small speaker built directly into the earpiece that sits in the ear. An acoustic tube earphone routes the audio from a speaker or transducer unit (worn at the lapel or collar) to the ear via a thin, flexible, transparent tube. The transducer converts the radio's audio signal, and the sound travels through the tube to the ear. This design means there is very little hardware visible at the ear — just the thin clear tube — creating the discreet appearance associated with security and event staff.
The clear acoustic tube and lapel mic combination is the standard earphone used by security guards, police, event marshals, and emergency services worldwide. The discreet appearance minimises the visible communications hardware, and the acoustic tube is comfortable for extended wear. While the HS010 is designed for UHF CB radio use on the TX685 and TX6150, its design is based on this professional security application style.
The swivel connector on the lapel clip allows the connector body to rotate to the correct angle for the garment it's clipped to, rather than being fixed in one position. This prevents the cable from twisting awkwardly when the clip is attached to a collar, lapel, or shirt pocket, improving both comfort and cable routing.
VOX (Voice-Activated Transmission) activates the radio transmitter automatically when the microphone detects your voice, eliminating the need to press the PTT button. This is useful when both hands must remain free and manually pressing PTT is inconvenient. PTT is the standard mode for precise transmission control; VOX is for fully hands-free situations.
The HS010 is confirmed for the TX685 and TX6150. These two models share the same microphone connector. Other GME handheld models use different connector types — confirm with GME before purchasing for any model not listed.
