The GME AISS120 is an active AIS antenna splitter, permitting a standard marine VHF antenna to serve both an AIS device and VHF radio without signal degradation, featuring clear call routing, IPX7 construction, and 12-24V DC input voltage.
GME's range of AIS transceivers, receivers, and splitters offers high performance and dependable reliability. The AISS120 active antenna splitter permits a standard marine VHF antenna to serve both the AIS device and VHF radio without any degradation of signal.
Using advanced signal processing, the AISS120 is the perfect solution for AIS installations on boats where additional antenna mounting space is not available. Clear call routing provides a key safety feature, ensuring VHF radio emergency priority and full operational performance even when power fails. The AISS120 is designed to work primarily with class B AIS radios such as the AIST120, although it operates equally well with AIS receivers such as the AISR120, and is supplied with the necessary cables to connect to a VHF radio and either the AIST120 or AISR120.
One of the most important safety features and fastest growing areas in marine navigation is AIS, Automatic Identification System. This collision avoidance technology is particularly valuable to boaters who regularly travel or fish in busy waterways or near major shipping routes. Having an operating AIS transponder onboard turns your boat into a visible radio beacon indicating your speed, course, and identity to other AIS equipped vessels or base stations. An AIS receiver allows you to track other AIS traffic in the area and identify Aids to Navigation (AtoN) even when not visible by sight, no longer inhibited by line-of-sight limitations like radar. Unlike radar, AIS allows you to see other AIS equipped craft behind obstructions like islands and land masses or hidden behind another vessel, and is equally effective in fog or darkness. AIS information is displayed on dedicated AIS screens or AIS compatible chartplotters.
Single Antenna for AIS and VHF: Permits a standard marine VHF antenna to serve both the AIS device and VHF radio without signal degradation, ideal where additional antenna mounting space isn't available.
Clear Call Routing: A key safety feature ensuring VHF radio emergency priority and full operational performance even when power fails.
Advanced Signal Processing: Advanced signal processing maintains signal quality when sharing a single antenna between AIS and VHF equipment.
156-163MHz Range: Operates across the 156-163MHz marine VHF and AIS frequency range.
Industry Standard Connectors: Industry standard connectors simplify integration with existing VHF and AIS equipment.
12-24V DC Input Voltage: Compatible with both 12V and 24V marine electrical systems.
IPX7 Construction: IPX7 rated construction provides protection against water immersion, suited to marine environments.
Low Power Consumption: Low power consumption helps minimise the load on the vessel's electrical system.
