The GME AE4017K2 is the spring-equipped version of the elevated-feed UHF CB (477 MHz) antenna kit essentially the AE4017K1 with the addition of a parallel electro-polished stainless steel spring positioned below the ABL002 elevated-feed base for greater durability. The spring allows the antenna to absorb vibration and flex on impact rather than transmitting stress directly to the mounting point or base.

At 860mm total length (vs 780mm for the AE4017K1), the additional spring component adds to the overall antenna height.

The whip diameter on the AE4017K2 is 2.5mm (vs 3.5mm on the AE4017K1) slightly thinner and more flexible, which may relate to the spring's vibration absorption role in the overall system.
