Shipping information

We offer fast and reliable shipping options to ensure that your order arrives in a timely manner. Our dedicated team works diligently to process and ship your items as quickly as possible.

Here are some key points to note about our shipping policy:

Standard Shipping

  • Frankies offers a $15.95 flat rate for Australia-wide shipping, no matter how many items you order. Some larger or heavier items may incur an additional fee, which will be communicated to you when your order is processed.
  • While we endeavour to dispatch all orders promptly, please be advised that due to the current national fuel shortages in Australia and the resulting pressure on logistics networks, order processing and dispatch may take up to 7 business days. We are not liable for delays caused by third-party freight carriers or fuel-related logistical disruptions. By placing an order, you acknowledge that delivery timeframes may be extended beyond our standard estimates during this period.

Estimated delivery times:

  • WA, NT, and TAS: currently experiencing longer shipping times
  • Holiday periods (e.g. Christmas): deliveries may be delayed due to increased freight volumes

Express Shipping

  • Express shipping is available and calculated based on your delivery location, as well as the size and weight of your order. To receive an accurate quote, please contact our Albion Park Rail store and request an "express shipping quote." Our team will promptly assist with pricing and availability. Payment for express shipping can be securely arranged over the phone.

Product features

1200mm High-Gain UHF CB Antenna Whip 8.1 dBi, Black Fibreglass, Heavy Duty Copper Element, 5/16×26 TPI Thread. Whip Only.

Product Overview

The GME AE4006 is a 1200mm black fibreglass UHF CB (477 MHz) antenna whip with 8.1 dBi gain a high-gain long-range antenna for flat terrain 4WD, farm, and rural UHF CB applications where maximum horizontal range is the priority. The heavy-duty braid copper internal element and polished stainless steel ferrule are built for durability.

The thread is confirmed as 5/16" × 26 TPI the standard Australian UHF CB antenna thread, compatible with GME's standard antenna bases including the ABL001.

The AE4006 uses a ground-dependent design. Whip only a compatible base and coaxial cable are required separately.

Features & Benefits

  • 1200mm high-gain fibreglass whip — extended length provides higher gain and greater UHF CB range in flat, open terrain
  • 8.1 dBi gain — significantly higher gain than 2.1 dBi antennas; concentrates the radiation pattern toward the horizon for maximum flat-terrain range
  • Heavy duty braid copper element — the internal radiating element uses braided copper construction for durability and conductivity
  • Black heat shrink fibreglass construction — fibreglass body with black heat shrink outer finish; lighter and more impact-resistant than stainless
  • Polished stainless steel ferrule — corrosion-resistant base fitting
  • 5/16" × 26 TPI thread — standard Australian UHF CB antenna thread; compatible with most standard UHF CB antenna bases
  • Ground-dependent design — requires a ferrous (steel) mounting surface for ground plane
  • Whip only — base, cable, and radio purchased separately

Frequently Asked Questions

What does 8.1 dBi gain mean and how does it compare to 2.1 dBi?

Gain in dBi measures how much an antenna concentrates its signal in a particular direction compared to a theoretical isotropic radiator. 8.1 dBi represents approximately 6 dB more gain than a 2.1 dBi antenna — meaning signal power is concentrated approximately 4× more densely toward the horizon. In flat terrain, this translates to substantially greater horizontal range. The trade-off is a narrower vertical radiation angle — in hilly or mountainous terrain, a lower-gain antenna like 2.1 dBi or 3 dBi may actually perform better by radiating more signal at angles that clear the terrain.

What is the 5/16" × 26 TPI thread?

5/16" × 26 TPI is the standard Australian UHF CB antenna thread — 5/16 inch diameter with 26 threads per inch. It is used across GME's standard antenna base range (including the ABL001) and most other Australian UHF CB antenna bases. This is the thread that confirms compatibility between this whip and standard bases.

What is a heavy duty braid copper element and why does it matter?

The internal radiating element inside the fibreglass antenna body is made from braided copper rather than a single solid wire. Braided copper is more flexible and more resistant to fatigue cracking from vibration — important for off-road and vehicle applications where the antenna undergoes constant movement. It also maintains good electrical conductivity.

How does the AE4006 compare to the AE4001 and AE4002?

The AE4001 and AE4002 are 150mm, 2.1 dBi, rigid stainless steel whips — compact, ground dependent. The AE4006 is 1200mm, 8.1 dBi, fibreglass with braided copper element — long-range, ground dependent. The AE4006 is the choice where maximum UHF CB range in flat terrain is the priority; the AE4001/AE4002 suit installations where compact size is more important than range.

Is a base and cable included?

No — the AE4006 is a whip only. A compatible 5/16" × 26 TPI antenna base (such as the GME ABL001) and coaxial cable are purchased separately.
