Product Overview

The Gator G4K20RC is a 720P HD rear window camera designed to work alongside the Gator G4KDVR20 front dashcam. Mounted on the inside of the rear window using 3M adhesive, it records footage at the rear of the vehicle and connects to the G4KDVR20 via a 5.5m cable that carries both power and video signal.

Combined with the G4KDVR20, it provides complete front and rear trip recording. When the G4KDVR20 is hardwired using the G4K20HWK hard wire kit, the G4K20RC will also record during parking surveillance mode.

Is this camera compatible with other Gator dashcams?

No. The G4K20RC is designed exclusively for use with the Gator G4KDVR20. It is not compatible with other dashcam models.

Does this camera record independently or does it require the G4KDVR20?

The G4K20RC connects to and is powered by the G4KDVR20 — it does not record independently. Both front and rear recording are managed by the G4KDVR20.

Is the G4K20HWK required for the rear camera?

The G4K20HWK is required for parking mode recording — without it, the dashcam (and rear camera) only records when the ignition is on. For normal driving recording only, the G4K20HWK is not required.

Does the rear camera have night vision?

No. The G4K20RC does not include infrared LEDs. Night vision capability depends on ambient light from street lighting and other vehicles. For situations requiring dedicated night vision, the G4K20RC may not be suitable.

How is the camera mounted?

The G4K20RC mounts inside the vehicle on the rear window using 3M adhesive — no drilling is required. Position the camera centrally on the rear window for the best viewing angle before securing with the adhesive.
