The Gator G154V is a vehicle-specific reverse camera for the Volkswagen Amarok (2011–on). It replaces the factory tailgate handle with a housing that integrates a reverse camera providing a completely discreet, OEM-appearance installation with no additional drilling. The factory tailgate lock mechanism is retained, so no additional keys or lock replacement is needed.

The 168-degree wide-angle lens provides a broad rear view with minimised blind spots. Parking guidelines are switched ON by default and can be removed by cutting the white loop on the camera cable during installation.

IP68 rated and operating from –20°C to +70°C built for Australian conditions.

No. The G154V outputs a non-mirrored rear view image. Confirm whether your head unit or monitor applies its own mirror/flip function before installing.

Is a 168-degree lens very wide and are there any distortion considerations?

168 degrees is an extremely wide field of view — wider than standard parking cameras — and will show some barrel distortion at the edges of the image, which is normal for very wide-angle lenses. The broad view is more useful for identifying hazards across the full rear width of the Amarok's wide tray.
