The T8861CD1 is the eufyCam 2C Pro two camera kit, a wireless home security system that records in 2K and stores footage locally with no monthly fee. eufy rates the battery at up to 180 days from one charge, depending on settings and how often the cameras are triggered.

Problems it is built to solve

Wired cameras mean running cable through walls and eaves. These run on batteries, so the hard part of the job is choosing where to mount them.

Subscription costs put many people off. eufy stores recordings on 16GB of local eMMC storage, which it says holds up to 3 months of footage, so there is no cloud plan to pay for.

Constant alerts for cats and swaying branches make people switch notifications off. eufy uses human detection to cut false alerts, and you can draw detection zones to suit the yard.

Setting up

Charge the cameras fully before mounting. Check the signal in the app at each spot before you drill, because walls, metal and distance from the base station cut range. Mount them high enough to be out of easy reach, angled down so faces are in the frame rather than the tops of heads.
