The Dynamat 19405 Xtreme Trunk Kit is a five-piece sound deadening pack covering 20 square feet (1.85sqm), designed to damp trunk and cargo area panel vibration caused by subwoofer output. Each piece measures 18" x 32" (457 x 812mm). By converting trunk panel vibration into silent energy, the kit raises Sound Pressure Level, eliminates bass distortion and rattles, and delivers tighter, cleaner bass from the subwoofer system.
Powerful subwoofers cause trunk panels, rear walls, and side panels to flex and vibrate, which wastes energy, reduces maximum bass output, and introduces distortion and rattles into the listening experience. Dynamat Xtreme applied to these panels converts the vibration energy into low-level heat rather than allowing it to become audible noise, effectively increasing the SPL available from the subwoofer system. Tests have shown the effect is comparable to adding an additional amplifier to the system.
The Trunk Kit is suited to coupes and sedans as the primary application, but also works on the rear cargo area of hatchbacks and SUVs, and the back walls and side panels of trucks and utes. For best results, Dynamat recommends using a Dynamat roller during installation to ensure full contact between the Xtreme material and the panel surface.
Raises Sound Pressure Level: By eliminating panel flex and vibration caused by subwoofer output, the Trunk Kit converts wasted vibration energy into silent heat, increasing the SPL output of the subwoofer system.
Eliminates bass distortion and rattles: Damping trunk and cargo panel vibration removes the distortion and rattling that obscures clean bass output, producing tighter and more accurate low-frequency reproduction.
Improves mid-bass performance: Panel damping reduces the resonance that muddies mid-bass frequencies, improving overall clarity and definition across the lower frequency range.
Five-piece kit with 20sqft coverage: Five pieces measuring 18" x 32" each provide 20 square feet (1.85sqm) of coverage, sufficient for treating the trunk floor, rear wall, and side panels of most sedan and coupe applications.
Versatile application: Suited to trunk treatment in coupes and sedans, rear cargo areas in hatchbacks and SUVs, and back walls and side panels in trucks and utes.
Dynamat Xtreme formula: Uses the proven Dynamat Xtreme butyl-based constrained-layer damping formula for reliable, long-lasting vibration control in automotive environments.

Will the Dynamat Xtreme Trunk Kit work with any subwoofer setup?
Yes. The Trunk Kit is designed to work with any subwoofer installation where trunk or cargo panel vibration is reducing bass clarity and SPL. The improvement in SPL and bass quality will vary depending on the subwoofer power and the number of panels treated.
Is the Trunk Kit only suited to coupes and sedans?
No. While the trunk of a coupe or sedan is the primary application, the Trunk Kit also suits the rear cargo areas of hatchbacks and SUVs, and the back walls and side panels of trucks and utes.
How many panels does the 20sqft Trunk Kit typically cover?
The five pieces measuring 18" x 32" each provide sufficient material for most trunk floor, rear wall, and side panel applications in a standard sedan or coupe. Coverage will vary depending on the vehicle size and the number of panels treated. Contact us if you are unsure whether one kit provides sufficient coverage for your specific vehicle.
Should I use a roller when installing the Trunk Kit?
Yes. Dynamat recommends using a Dynamat roller during installation to ensure full contact between the Xtreme material and the panel surface for maximum adhesion and performance.
What is the thickness of the Dynamat Xtreme material in the Trunk Kit?
The Dynamat Xtreme material in the 19405 Trunk Kit is 0.063 inches thick.
