Before charging starts it checks whether the battery can accept and keep a charge. There are Normal, AGM and Recond programmes, and Recond helps bring back batteries that are stratified or deeply flat. A separate supply mode lets it run 12V equipment at up to 7A while the battery is out of the vehicle.

The case is IP65 rated against splashes and dust, and the charger is spark free, reverse polarity protected and short circuit proof, so it can be left connected.
