Quick answer:SWI-BM03 is a plug and play radio replacement interface for older BMWs and a few related models. It keeps the factory steering wheel audio buttons and, on CAN vehicles, gives a 12 volt accessory output. It comes with harnesses for both the 40 pin Quadlock and the 17 pin round BMW plug.

It does not suit cars with iDrive, and it will not keep a factory amp in cars with a DSP. If the factory radio made the parking sensor tones, those are lost too. The supplier fitment table lists the 3 Series E46, 5 Series E39, Mini R50, X3 E83, X5 E53, Z4 E85 and E86, Range Rover L322 and Rover 75.
