Product overview

Replacing the factory head unit in a compatible Holden without a vehicle-specific interface results in loss of steering wheel controls, climate control display, parking sensor readouts, and other OEM functions managed through the factory unit. The SAGM07 retains these functions and passes them through to the aftermarket head unit display, preserving access to the vehicle's built-in features alongside the upgraded audio system.

Steering wheel control retention covers phone button and voice assistant button compatibility in addition to standard audio controls. On-screen output covers climate control (HVAC) visualisation, parking sensor display, and cross traffic alert display via the reverse camera feed where the vehicle is equipped with those features. The OEM reverse camera is retained with PAL/NTSC auto-detection. The interface does not support OEM amplifier retention and is not compatible with high-definition cameras.

Configuration uses selectable dipswitches for setup depending on the vehicle and head unit combination. Multi-language support covers English, German, Spanish, Italian, and French. Software updates are supported for long-term reliability. Note on SWC first-time setup: on initial installation, steering wheel controls may operate incorrectly. To switch SWC mode, press the Track Down button five times quickly and the interface will change to the correct configuration.

Important installation notes:

The aftermarket head unit must be SWC compatible. Steering wheel control functions may vary from OEM functions depending on the head unit.

The aftermarket head unit requires a rear camera input for camera integration to function.

This interface is not compatible with high-definition cameras.

Do not plug the LIN-EXT connector into the video output of the SAGM07 module.
